Readout of Majorana qubits

Jacob F. Steiner、Felix von Oppen2020-08-17Physical Review Research

This work develops a quantum measurement theory for practical readout protocols relying on charge sensing using a tunnel-coupled quantum dot. The authors analyze the conditions for successful readout protocols and identify the conditions for implementing robust measurements of Majorana qubits.

Non-volatile, small-signal capacitance in ferroelectric capacitors

Yuan-Chun Luo、Jae Hur、Panni Wang 等 5 位作者2020-08-17Applied Physics Letters

Tunable, non-volatile, small-signal capacitance is observed and characterized in a TiN/ferroelectric Hf0.5Zr0.5O2 (HZO)/TiN stack. The non-volatility of the small-signal capacitance originates from the non-uniform distribution of oxygen vacancies near/at the bottom electrode, resulting in polarity-dependent responses…

A compact and polarization-insensitive silicon waveguide crossing based on subwavelength grating MMI couplers

Sailong Wu、Simei Mao、Lidan Zhou 等 10 位作者2020-08-17Optics Express

In this work, we proposed and experimentally demonstrated a compact and low polarization-dependent silicon waveguide crossing based on subwavelength grating multimode interference couplers. The subwavelength grating structure decreases the effective refractive index difference and shrinks the device footprint. Our des…

Yue Yu、Xi Yang、Sheethal Reghu 等 6 位作者2020-08-17Nature Communications

Strategies for eradicating cancer stem cells (CSCs) are urgently required because CSCs are resistant to anticancer drugs and cause treatment failure, relapse and metastasis. Here, we show that photoactive functional nanocarbon complexes exhibit unique characteristics, such as homogeneous particle morphology, high wate…
