Abstract The high‐pressure behavior of Ni‐filled and Fe‐filled multiwalled carbon nanotubes has been investigated up to 27 GPa and 19 GPa, respectively, with the help of synchrotron‐based angle‐dispersive X‐ray diffraction. These nanotubes do not show any structural transformation up to the highest pressures studied.…

Space Charge Signature and Its Effects on Ionic Transport in Heterogeneous Solids

Binod Kumar、Joykumar S. Thokchom2007-07-31Journal of the American Ceramic Society

The Arrhenius plots of heterogeneous solids comprising of lithium aluminum titanium phosphate (LATP) glass–ceramic, Al 2 O 3 , and Ba 0.6 Sr 0.4 TiO 3 (0.6 BST) exhibit an inflection or peak around 27°C, which is interpreted as a signature of space charge. The space charge is formed by the adsorption of lithium ions o…

Chemical End-Grafting of Homogeneous Polystyrene Monolayers on Mica and Silica Surfaces

Benoît Liberelle、Suzanne Giasson2007-07-31Langmuir

Homogeneous polystyrene monolayers covalently end-attached on mica and silica surfaces were obtained using a "graft to" methodology. The grafting was achieved via nucleophilic substitution between silanol groups (Si-OH) containing surface and monochlorosilyl terminated polystyrene (PS). Different parameters, such as s…

THREE-DIMENSIONAL NUMERICAL SIMULATIONS OF A PHASE-FIELD MODEL FOR ANISOTROPIC INTERFACIAL ENERGY

Junseok Kim2007-07-31Communications of the Korean Mathematical Society

A computationally efficient numerical scheme is presented for the phase-field model of two-phase systems for anisotropic interfacial energy. The scheme is solved by using a nonlinear multigrid method. When the coefficient for the anisotropic interfacial energy is sufficiently high, the interface of the system shows co…

Specific Surface Effects on the Storage of Hydrogen on Carbon Nanostructures

P. Lachance、Pierre Bénard2007-07-31International Journal of Green Energy

We present a study of the adsorption of hydrogen on nanotube bundles and 4 different carbon fragment geometries as a function of their specific surface. The sorption process is investigated using grand canonical Monte Carlo methods in terms of the gravimetric and volumetric storage densities, as a function of radius,…

Unsteady catalytic processes and sorption-catalytic technologies

А. Н. Загоруйко2007-07-31Russian Chemical Reviews

Catalytic processes that occur under conditions of the targeted unsteady state of the catalyst are considered. The highest efficiency of catalytic processes was found to be ensured by a controlled combination of thermal non-stationarity and unsteady composition of the catalyst surface. The processes based on this prin…

Characterization of InP porous layer by high‐resolution X‐ray diffraction

В. И. Пунегов、A. A. Lomov、К. Д. Щербачев2007-07-31physica status solidi (a)

Abstract A high resolution X‐ray diffraction method has been effectively used for the structural characterization of InP porous layers. It was revealed that strong diffuse scattering from pores around reciprocal lattice points does depend on the azimuth positions of samples. To extract structural information about por…
