The chemistry of non-peroxo polynuclear cobalt(III) ammines is reviewed with particular emphasis on Werner's major contributions. Modern work in this area has shown that Werner's conclusions regarding the structures of these compounds are substantially correct in spite of the relatively primitive techniques he had ava…

Abstract Results are presented of the structures obtained upon crystallization of polypropylene from dilute solutions in α ‐chloronaphthalene. It is shown that under proper conditions of concentration and crystallization, isotactic polypropylene can be caused to grow in the form of lath‐shaped single‐crystal lamellae.…

Sendust Fe-Si-Al ternary alloys have high saturation flux density, low coercive force and high resistivity. Moreover, they are strong against wear, so efforts have been devoted to make use of these alloys as the video-tape-recorder head materials. These alloys are too hard and brittle to be made into thin sheets by ro…

Recently it was shown that the C[dbnd]S group in fluorothiocarbonyl compounds readily undergoes addition polymerization. This review describes polymers obtainable from such compounds as CF2[dbnd]S, CF3CF[dbnd]S, ClCF2CF[dbnd]S, HCFClCF[dbnd]S, and hexafluorothioacetone. The polymerization of CF2[dbnd]S is readily brou…
