The structures of seven olivines of various compositions in the system Ni2Si04-Mg2 Si04 have been investigated by single-crystal X-ray diffraction methods. Crystals with inter mediate compositions were synthesized at 900•c. To avoid zoning, the temperature was kept constant throughout the entire preparation period.
