Abstract NaBiS 2 and KBiS 2 both have the NaCl structure with Bi 3+ and Na + (resp. K + ) in averaged structure. The cell dimensions are 5.76 Å for NaBiS 2 and 6.01 Å for KBiS 2 . The ionic radius of Bi 3+ is discussed.
