Tensile Properties of Pandanus Atrocarpus based Composites

Hoo Tien Nicholas Kuan、Meng Chuen Lee1970-01-01Journal of Applied Science & Process Engineering

Pandanus atrocarpus, or locally known as mengkuang plant is likely to be potential natural fibre reinforcement in composite. Both the Pandanus leaves, and fibres extracted from the Pandanus leaves were used in composite fabrication. Fibres were extracted from Pandanus leaves with water retting process. Pandanus compos…

Peroxides of elements other than carbon. Part XVII. Reaction of tri-2-norbornylboranes with neutral hydrogen peroxide

Alwyn G. Davies、Richard Tudor1970-01-01Journal of the Chemical Society B Physical Organic

The reaction between three epimeric tri-2-norbornylboranes and neutral 30% aqueous hydrogen peroxide at 25° has been investigated in the absence and presence of iodine and of carbon tetrachloride. Whereas norbornane, 2,2′-binorbornane, norbornyl iodide, and norbornyl chloride are produced through an intermediate norbo…

Heat stability of chemically crosslinked polyethylene

M. Narkis、A. V. Tobolsky1970-01-01Journal of Applied Polymer Science

Abstract Heat stability in air of chemically crosslinked polyethylene loaded with medium thermal (MT) carbon black was studied as a function of temperature and carbon black content. Weight loss at 200° to 250°C is practically independent of the carbon black concentration. Modulus–temperature curves are changed with va…

Roles of Alloying Elements on the Corrosion Behavior of Amorphous W–Zr–(15–33)Cr Alloys in 1 M NaOH Solution

Raju R. Kumal、Jagadeesh Bhattarai1970-01-01Journal of Nepal Chemical Society

Roles of alloy-constituting elements on the corrosion behavior of the sputter-depositedamorphous W-Zr-(15-33)Cr alloys was studied in 1 M NaOH solution open to air at 25°Cusing corrosion tests and open circuit potential measurements. Zirconium and chromiummetals act synergistically with tungsten in enhancing the corro…

Magnetic susceptibility anomaly in nearly equiatomic MnNi alloys

Л. Пал、T. Tarnóczi、G. Konczos1970-01-01physica status solidi (b)

Abstract The crystallographic and magnetic properties of nearly equiatomic nickel–manganese alloys have been investigated by X‐ray and neutron diffraction techniques as well as by classical susceptibility measurements. It has been found that the antiferromagnetic–paramagnetic phase transition takes place in most of th…

Optical and Electrical Characteristics of CdO thin films deposited by Spray Pyrolysis Method

MM Islam、MR Islam、Jiban Podder1970-01-01Journal of Bangladesh Academy of Sciences

Cadmium oxide (CdO) thin films have been deposited by a locally developed spray pyrolysis method onto glass substrate at 473K. The optical and electrical properties of the as-deposited and annealed films are studied in details. The surface morphology of the samples was studied by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Th…

The assignment of the vibrational frequencies of the SO3Cl− Ion

Derk J. Stufkens、H. Gerding1970-01-01Recueil des Travaux Chimiques des Pays-Bas

Abstract The Raman spectra of HSO 3 Cl in CH 3 COOH and NaSO 3 Cl in N,N ‐dimethylacetamide are recorded. From these spectra the SO 3 Cl − frequencies are reassigned. The new assignment is in agreement with the Raman spectra of solid (CH 3 ) 4 N · SO 3 Cl, SCl 4 · SO 3 , SeCl 4 · SO 3 and TeCl 4 · SO 3 .

M. P. Fontana、W. J. van Sciver1970-01-01physica status solidi (b)

Abstract Crystals of NaI, KI, and KCl have been quenched from temperatures as high as 450 °C by rapid immersion in liquid nitrogen. In the case of NaI, very strong absorption bands at 255 nm (Q 1 ) and 226 nm (Q 2 ) may be produced by quenching the crystal from about 360 °C. The excitation spectrum for a characteristi…
