The nature, origin and distribution of authigenic clay minerals from Middle Jurassic Ravenscar and Brent Group sandstones

J. D. Kantorowicz1984-06-01Clay Minerals

Abstract Middle Jurassic sandstones contain a variety of authigenic clay materials. The origin and distribution of these are related to the influence of several factors, principally depositional pore-fluid chemistry, sandbody geometry and the migration of aggressive fluids. Pore-lining illite, pore-lining chlorite and…

Effect of Sulfide on the Corrosion of Cu‐9.4Ni‐1.7Fe Alloy in Aqueous NaCl Solution

Chiaki Kato、H. W. Pickering、J. E. Castle1984-06-01Journal of The Electrochemical Society

The effects of sulfide contamination (5 ppm) on the corrosion mechanism of Cu‐9.4Ni‐1.7Fe alloy were studied in 3.4 weight percent ( w / o ) NaCl solution at room temperature. Compared to the sulfide‐free solutions ( i ), the thickness of the corrosion products formed in the sulfide solution is much greater, and ( ii…

High-Mobility States and Dielectric Breakdown in Polymeric Dielectrics

H. R. Zeller、P. Pfluger、J. Bernasconi1984-06-01IEEE Transactions on Electrical Insulation

We introduce a new experimental technique for directly measuring the energy and momentum scattering rates of hot electrons in dielectrics. Their energy distribution and impact ionization rate at a given electrical field F is a function of \begin{equation*}F^{2} \int^{E}_{0} \gamma_{p}(E)\gamma^{L0}_\mu{ }(E)dE\end{equ…

Giuseppe de Vito、N. Lanzetta、Giovanni Maglio 等 6 位作者1984-06-01Journal of Polymer Science Polymer Chemistry Edition

Abstract Functionalization of an amorphous ethylene‐propylene copolymer, EPM, has been performed by means of homogeneous grafting reactions of unsaturated molecules such as dibutylmaleate, diethylfumarate, itaconic anhydride, and maleic anhydride, initiated by free radicals. Dicumylperoxide and dibenzoylperoxide have…

The Corrosion Inhibition of Metals by Molybdate Part I. Mild Steel

Michael Stranick1984-06-01CORROSION

The effect of molybdate ion on the corrosion of mild steel in an aggressive, low hardness water was investigated electrochemically. Studies were conducted with molybdate concentration ranging from 50 to 5000 mg/L in waters of pH 3, 5, 7, and 9. The effect of temperature and aeration was also investigated. In deaerated…

Kinetics and Mechanisms of High-Temperature Creep in Silicon Carbide: I, Reaction-Bonded

C.H. CARTER、R. F. Davis、J. Bentley1984-06-01Journal of the American Ceramic Society

The kinetic characteristics and the controlling mechanism of steady-state creep were determined for NC–430 reaction-bonded silicon carbide which was subjected to high temperatures (1848 to 1923 K) and constant compressive stresses (110 to 220 MN/m2). Both as-received and as-crept materials were studied extensively by…

PREPARATION PROCESS AND CATALYTIC ACTIVITY OF CsxH3−xPW12O40

Shin Tatematsu、Takuo Hibi、Toshio Okuhara 等 4 位作者1984-06-01Chemistry Letters

Abstract When H3PW12O40 solution was titrated with Cs2CO3 solution, Cs2PW12O40 was precipitated at the Cs/anion ratio of 0.5–2, while Cs3HPW12O40 was formed at the ratio of 3. Based on these results, the peculiar variation with x and heat-treatment observed for catalytic activity of CsxH3−xPW12O40 has been explained.

Thomas P. Russell1984-06-01Journal of Polymer Science Polymer Physics Edition

Abstract The morphology of isotropic films of poly[ N , N '‐bis(phenoxyphenyl)‐pyromellitimide] was investigated by means of small‐angle x‐ray scattering. A significantly different morphology was found to develop in these films as compared to that in films possessing as in‐plane molecular orientation. It was found tha…

Virgil E Johnson、Georges L. Chahine、W. T. Lindenmuth 等 6 位作者1984-06-01Journal of Energy Resources Technology

Analyses of self-excited, resonating jets have been corroborated by laboratory experiments. These structured jets achieved cavitation at greater ambient pressures and showed enhanced erosivity in comparison to the nonstructured jets from conventional drill bit nozzles.
