Photoabsorption in the vicinity of3dabsorption edges of La,La2O3, Ce, and CeO2

Observations of photoabsorption in La, ${\mathrm{La}}_{2}$${\mathrm{O}}_{3}$, Ce, and Ce${\mathrm{O}}_{2}$ in the vicinity of the $3d$ edges are given. Calculations of relative absorption intensities for Ce are shown to correspond well with the experimental data.
