The dependence of yield stress on forest dislocation density in copper single crystals

By twisting copper single crystals to introduce known densities of forest dislocations, the tension yield stress has been related to the forest density in the form: where τ00 ≃ 5g/mm2 and α0 ≃ 0·65. The “small value of τ00 suggests that the yield stress is determined mainly by the forest dislocation density.
