n-Butyraldehyde self-condensation catalyzed by Ce-modified γ-Al 2 O 3

Chao Xiong、Ning Liang、Hualiang An 等 5 位作者2015-01-01RSC Advances

Ce–Al 2 O 3 showed an excellent catalytic activity and reusability for the self-condensation of n -butyraldehyde to 2-ethylhexanol. The acid–base property of Ce–Al 2 O 3 other than Ce valence state played a dominant role in its catalytic performance.

Crystal-surface-induced simultaneous synthesis and hierarchical morphogenesis of conductive polymers

Kento Kuwabara、Yuya Oaki、Ryo Muramatsu 等 4 位作者2015-01-01Chemical Communications

The surface of oxidant crystals facilitates the simultaneous synthesis and morphogenesis of conductive polymer materials. Oxidant crystals as a condensed phase of the oxidative agent induce the formation of the conductive polymer nanoparticles and their accumulated films.

Contact angle of a nanodrop on a nanorough solid surface

Gersh O. Berim、Eli Ruckenstein2015-01-01Nanoscale

The contact angle of a cylindrical nanodrop on a nanorough solid surface is calculated, for both hydrophobic and hydrophilic surfaces, using the density functional theory. The emphasis of the paper is on the dependence of the contact angle on roughness. The roughness is modeled by rectangular pillars of infinite lengt…

Multitip semiconductor field emitters with new-type bilayer protecting coatings

G. G. Sominskii、T. A. Tumareva、E. P. Taradaev 等 5 位作者2015-01-01Technical Physics

We investigate the operation of multitip silicon field emitters with new-type bilayer metal—fullerene protective coatings in technical vacuum. The experiments indicate that such cathodes ensures emission current densities averaged over the cathode surface of about 0.5 A/cm 2 and can be used in high-voltage devices inc…

Differential interactions of conjugated polymer nanoparticles with glycosaminoglycans in synthetic urine

Megan Twomey、Tereza Vokatá、Manian Rajesh Kumar 等 4 位作者2015-01-01Chemical Communications

Four different conjugated polymer nanoparticles (CPNs) were used to differentiate structurally similar glycosaminoglycans (GAGs) in a urine simulant. Unique emission response patterns of CPNs were analyzed by linear discriminant analysis (LDA), confirming that structurally diverse CPNs are sensitive and effective at d…
