Crystal Structures of Dy_2(WO_4)_3 and GdY(WO_4)_3

Cong Wang2003-01-01稀有金属:英文版

Two compounds, Dy2(WO4)3 and GdY(WO4)3, were synthesized by using the standard solid state reaction technique. The crystal structure was determined by powder X-ray diffraction and Rietveld refinement method. It is found that both compounds have Eu2(WO4)3-type monoclinic structure, with space group C 2/c, Z = 4. The un…

Studies on the diatom genera Gyrosigma and Pleurosigma (Bacillariophyceae): Pleurosigma strigosum W. Smith and some presumptive relatives

F. A. S. Sterrenburg2003-01-01Micropaleontology

Pleurosigma strigosum W. Smith is not a variety of P. angulatum (Quekett) W. Smith but a different species, as confirmed in SEM. This conclusion agrees with that of Hendey (1964), who typified the species. P. finmarchicum Cleve in Cleve and Möller 1882 does not show specific differences from P. strigosum. This paper g…

Miscibility of PVC with chlorinated PE and chlorinated PVC

Jan‐Chan Huang2003-01-01International Journal of Polymeric Materials

Miscibility of PVC with chlorinated PE and chlorinated PVC was reviewed. The miscible region of chlorine content ranged from 44 wt% to 65 wt%, which was not symmetric to the chlorine content of PVC, 56.7 wt%. Two group contribution methods were used to calculate solubility parameters of polymers. The results of solubi…

Heat-Treatment on Black-Passivated ZnNi Alloys

C. Müller、M. Sarret、Elisa Rubio-García2003-01-01Journal of The Electrochemical Society

Zinc-nickel alloys obtained from an alkaline bath were passivated with a black, silver-free, chromate conversion coating (CCC). The attack of the chromate solution on the coatings changed most of their characteristics. The CCC modified the composition, thickness, structure, roughness, and stress level of the alloys. S…

Development of Isotropic Bonded Magnets with (BH)max of 120 kJ/m3

Shinya Sakurada、A. Tsutai、Tomohisa Arai2003-01-01Journal of the Japan Society of Powder and Powder Metallurgy

We have developed isotropic magnet powder with the composition of (Sm, Zr)(Fe, Co)zB0.1Nx (z=9-10) prepared by rapid quenching, annealing, and nitrogenation. The presence of both zirconium and cobalt make it possible to realize a nearly single phase of the TbCu7 structure with a c/a ratio as high as 0.87. These powder…

RIETVELD REFINEMENT OF 2-THETA SPLIT RANGES - A METHOD FOR REDUCING ANALYSIS TIME

Karin Laursen、Tim W. White2003-01-01OpenAlex

This paper presents a method of reducing the X-ray diffraction data collection tim e, while maintaining high data quality, suitable for Rietveld refinement. The approach taken here is that phases in general show peak broadening as well as a loss of intensity with increasing 2-theta. Thus, by splitting the full analyze…

Seeded Batch Cooling Crystallization of Adipic Acid from Ethanol Solution

Norihito Doki、Masaaki Yokota、Hiroaki Nakamura 等 5 位作者2003-01-01JOURNAL OF CHEMICAL ENGINEERING OF JAPAN

Adipic acid was crystallized by cooling in a batch crystallizer. At low seed loadings, the product crystal size distribution (CSD) was bi-modal because of enormous secondary nucleation. However, at high seed loadings, it became uni-modal, where the crystallization was dominated by seed growth with practically no secon…

Chemical Reaction between Tantalum and Gallium under High Pressure

Yasuo Fujinaga、Yoshihiro Murakami2003-01-01MATERIALS TRANSACTIONS

Tantalum in contact with gallium is compressed up to 7 GPa and heated. When the temperature keeps above 50°C of the melting temperature of gallium, the lattice constant of tantalum is approximately constant. The lattice expansion begins to increase with raising the temperature from above 300°C. The expansion becomes a…
