Kazuya Sawada、Hiroshi Urakawa、Mitsuo Ueda2007-11-01Textile Research Journal

Enzymatic modification of polylactic acid fibers is investigated using various kinds of protease and lipase. The effects of enzymes on the hydrolysis of polylactic acid fibers is evaluated by means of fiber weight loss, fiber strength and fiber surface observation. It is found that proteases derived from Bacillus subt…

А. Г. Мирочник、Е. В. Федоренко、D. Kh. Gizzatulina 等 4 位作者2007-11-01Russian Journal of Physical Chemistry A

The photochemical behavior of (dibenzoylmethanato)boron difluoride in the polymethyl methacrylate matrix was studied. Photoinduced luminescence enhancement was observed, and a mechanism of the process related to the aggregation of high-polarity luminophore molecules under irradiation was suggested.

Polymorph selection: the role of nucleation, crystal growth and molecular modeling.

Deniz Erdemir、Alfred Y. Lee、Allan S. Myerson2007-11-01PubMed

Solution crystallization is an important separation and purification process used in the chemical, pharmaceutical and food industries. The quality of a crystalline product is generally judged by four main criteria: purity, crystal habit, particle size and solid form. Consistent production of the desired polymorph is c…

DNA–carbon nanotube interactions and nanostructuring based on DNA

Stephanie R. Vogel、Katharina Müller、Ulrich Plutowski 等 5 位作者2007-11-01physica status solidi (b)

Abstract The unusual properties of single‐walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) make them attractive for applications in the realm of molecular electronics, but also cause severe experimental difficulties in the purification and handling of these materials. One important step toward routine use of SWCNTs is the development…

Control of the Surface Charges of Au−Ag Nanorods: Selective Detection of Iron in the Presence of Poly(sodium 4-styrenesulfonate)

Yu‐Fen Huang、Yang‐Wei Lin、Huan‐Tsung Chang2007-11-01Langmuir

In this article, we report a simple approach for selectively sensing Fe2+ ions using CTAB-stabilized Au-Ag nanorods (CTAB-Au-Ag NRs) in the presence of poly(sodium 4-styrenesulfonate) (PSS). The prepared CTAB-Au-Ag NRs exhibit an intense longitudinal surface plasmon resonance absorption (>10(9) M(-1) cm(-1) at 827 nm)…

Pirjo Heikkilä、L. Söderlund、Jari Uusimäki 等 5 位作者2007-11-01Polymer Engineering and Science

Abstract Nanofibers can be prepared from a polymer solution utilizing electrospinning, a method exploiting an electrostatic field. In this work the electric field of the electrospinning process was modeled for better understanding and controllability of the fiber deposition in the electrospinning process. The model of…

Atomic structure and formation mechanism of (301) rutile twins from Diamantina (Brazil)

Nina Daneu、H. Schmid、Aleksander Rečnik 等 4 位作者2007-11-01American Mineralogist

Rutile (TiO 2 ) twins from Diamantina in Brazil were investigated using analytical transmission electron microscopy methods. High-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM) imaging of (301) twinned rutile revealed the existence of a coherent interlayer at the twin boundary. The interface lamella, with a later…

Role of Doping in Carbon Nanotube Transistors With Source/Drain Underlaps

Khairul Alam、Roger K. Lake2007-11-01IEEE Transactions on Nanotechnology

The effects of doping on the performance of coaxially gated carbon nanotube (CNT) field-effect transistors for both zero Schottky-barrier (SB) and doped carbon nanotube contacts are theoretically investigated. For ultrascaled CNTFETs in which the source/drain metal contacts lie 50 nm apart, there is no MOSFET-like con…

Influence of external and internal length scale on the flow stress of copper

Daniel Kiener、Martin Rester、S. Scheriau 等 6 位作者2007-11-01International Journal of Materials Research (formerly Zeitschrift fuer Metallkunde)

Abstract The flow stress of bulk specimens is known to depend on the microstructure. With a reduction of specimen dimensions into the micrometer and nanometer regime, specimen size-effects also influence the mechanical properties. We characterized the size-dependent flow stress of copper over more than three orders of…
