Opalescence and clearing techniques were used to determine the metastable immiscibility surface for sodium borosilicate solutions. These results indicate that a three‐liquid region, which may or may not be metastable to two‐liquid regions, underlies the immiscibility surface.

Abstract Linear polyurethanes containing ionic centers at wide intervals are heteropolymers having a pronounced segment structure, i.e. ionomers. As a result of interactions between chains (Coulomb forces and hydrogen bonds), their properties are similar to those of crosslinked elastomers. They are strongly associated…

In this review we discuss the various ways in which dislocations interact with and provide sites for the segregation of point defects. Since there is, in general, a long-range interaction between a point defect and a dislocation, the kinetics of the migration of the point defects to the dislocations will depend on the…

Abstract Gorsky‐effect measurements on vanadium‐, niobium‐, and tantalum‐samples loaded with different concentrations (0.2 to 4.3 at%) of hydrogen or deuterium are reported. From the relaxation strength the trace of the dipole‐moment tensor of hydrogen and deuterium was determined and found to be consistent with the l…

Structure potentials, Vg, and absorption potentials for 100 keV-electrons are given in tabulated form for almost all monatomic crystals with elements Z = 3 to 90 and for a number of crystals of the rock-salt type. The absorption potentials are given in the form of the Fourier coefficients Ci0g of the Yoshioka imaginar…

Les modules élastiques des métaux de transition sont étudiés dans un modèle où l'énergie totale du cristal est écrite comme somme d'une contribution due à la bande d traitée dans l'approximation des liaisons fortes et d'une contribution répulsive de type Born-Mayer. Zinc sulphate (ZnSO4.7H2O), an inorganic material has been crystallized by an isothermal evaporation method. ZnSO4.7H2O is highly soluble in water and the solubility is found to be increased almost linearly with the increase of temperature. At room temperature around 34°C, the solubility was found to be 92.41 gm/50 ml…

Abstract The Taylor theory of polycrystal plasticity was applied to three‐axial deformation accomplished by glide on (111) [110] or (110) [111] glide systems. The orientation dependence of the Taylor factor was used to calculate the angular dependence of the relative strength of a textured material. The angular depend…
