A. Donato、M. Lenzi、Andrea Mele1967-01-01Journal of Macromolecular Science Part A - Chemistry

The thermal degradation of polytetrafluoroethylene oxide has been examined by the isothermal and thermogravimetric methods in the temperature range 450 to 650°C. The main components of the volatile gas are trifluoro-acetyl fluoride, carbonyl fluoride, and tetrafluoroethylene. The thermogravimetric decompositions of po…

A study of the interaction of Ni(II) and Cu(II) with poly(acrylic acid)

J.V. McLaren、J. D. Watts、Alfred R. Gilbert1967-01-01Journal of Polymer Science Part C Polymer Symposia

Abstract Potentiometric titrations have been carried out on a sample of poly(acrylic acid) of very high molecular weight ( M w = 1.92 × 10 6 ). At polymer concentrations greater than about 1 × 10 −4 equiv./liter, this material behaves as a weaker acid, under given conditions, than when it is heat degraded, and also co…

The Raman spectrum and structure of indium trichloride–bis(diethyl ether)

Michael J. Taylor1967-01-01Journal of the Chemical Society A Inorganic Physical Theoretical

The Raman spectrum of the complex InCl3,2Et3O just above the melting point indicates that both ether molecules are co-ordinated to indium and that the InCl3 unit is planar. Characteristic frequencies due to internal vibrations of the ligands are similar to previously observed frequencies in the complex of aluminium ch…

Crystal structure of isotactic poly (vinyl methyl ether)

P. Corradini、I. W. Bassi1967-01-01Journal of Polymer Science Part C Polymer Symposia

Abstract The crystal structure of isotactic poly(vinyl methyl ether) has been defined on the basis of x‐ray fiber spectra. Isotactic poly(vinyl methyl ether) crystallizes in a rhombohedral unit cell whose constants referred to hexagonal axes are: a = b = 16.25 ± 0.15 A., c = 6.50 ± 0.05 A. (chain axis) Z = 18, d calc…

Kinetics and mechanism of dehydroxylation of crocidolite

Miles Clark、A. G. Freeman1967-01-01Transactions of the Faraday Society

The kinetics of dehydroxylation of crocidolite have been studied in vacuo. The kinetic data may be interpreted in terms of a diffusion-controlled reaction based on radial diffusion out of a cylinder. The activation energy for the process is 49 kcal/mole.

Abstract Thermal degradation processes are of great importance in the case of polyoxymethylene. Establishment of the mechanism of oxidative decomposition is particularly important, because it proceeds under conditions when depolymerization is predominant over oxidation. The basic kinetic regularities of thermal and th…

Leakage Inductance and Interwinding Capacitance in Toroidal Ratio Transformers

A. J. Binnie、T.R. Foord1967-01-01IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement

The small, but often significant, voltage ratio error of a ratio transformer is caused by leakage of magnetic flux and the flow of displacement currents around the windings. A model of the flux leakage pattern within a toroidal transformer is used in conjunction with an analysis of the effect of interwinding capacitan…
