Effect of Acid Corrosion Inhibitors On Matrix Stimulation Results

C.W. Crowe、Stephen S. Minor1985-10-01Journal of Petroleum Technology

Summary Acid corrosion inhibitors provide protection by adsorbing on metal surfaces, thus forming a barrier against acid attack. On entering the formation, the inhibitor strongly adsorbs on clays and other minerals present within the matrix of the rock. In some cases. inhibitors contain acid-insoluble residues that ca…

Experimental tests of a theoretical method for predicting light scattering by aggregates

Paul Latimer1985-10-01Applied Optics

A recent method for predicting light scattering by random aggregates of particles is experimentally examined. This approximate method is here tested in terms of its ability to predict the effects of aggregation of latex spheres of five different sizes on nine different transmitted and scattered light fluxes. In each c…

Destabilization of Yttria‐Stabilized Zirconia Induced by Molten Sodium Vanadate‐Sodium Sulfate Melts

A. S. Nagelberg1985-10-01Journal of The Electrochemical Society

The extent of surface destabilization of weight percent ceramic disks was determined after exposure to molten salt mixtures of sodium sulfate containing up to 15 mole percent sodium metavanadate at 1173 K. The ceramic surface was observed to transform from the cubic/tetragonal to the monoclinic phase, concurrent with…

Density of states for random-central-force elastic networks

Edward J. Garboczi、M. F. Thorpe1985-10-01Physical review. B, Condensed matter

Effective-medium theory (EMT) results for the behavior of the elastic properties of random-central-force networks with a fraction p of nearest-neighbor bonds present are extended to finite frequencies. Good agreement with numerical simulations for the density of states at all frequencies is demonstrated. In particular…

The Production of Palladium Powders for Electronic Applications

G. G. Ferrier、A. R. Berzins、N. M. Davey1985-10-01Platinum Metals Review

Recent investigations into metal powder fabrication by chemical precipitation techniques have shown that a wide variety of powder morphologies can be obtained by making subtle changes in the reaction parameters. Palladium powders produced using these techniques find wide application in the microelectronics industry, p…

Properties of Lead Fluorosilicate Glasses

James E. Shelby1985-10-01Journal of the American Ceramic Society

Lead fluorosilicate glasses containing up to 25 mol% PbF 2 were prepared. The dc electrical conductivity, thermal expansion, and transformation‐range viscosity of these glasses indicate that they are anionic conductors and that fluorine significantly decreases the continuity of the vitreous network.

Evidence for a mechanism of swelling variation with composition in irradiated Fe-Cr-Ni alloys

E. H. Lee、L.K. Mansur1985-10-01Philosophical magazine. A/Philosophical magazine. A. Physics of condensed matter. Structure, defects and mechanical properties

Irradiations with 4 MeV Ni ions and 200–400 keV He ions were carried out on two alloys, Fe-15Cr-15Ni and Fe-15Cr-35Ni, at 675°C and doses up to 84dpa. Both dual-ion irradiation experiments and sequenced He injection-anneal-Ni irradiations were used. The dual-ion experiment showed that the two alloys exhibited large di…
