Numerical calculations of magnetization and demagnetizing factors in thin film anisotropic structures

S. Tumański、M. Stabrowski1988-01-01IEEE Transactions on Magnetics

A method for calculating the magnetizing and coupling fields, anisotropy field, and demagnetizing factors in various thin-film anisotropic structures is presented. Single-stripe and multistripe structures are investigated. A generalized method for calculating the magnetization in thin-film structures with arbitrary sh…

Silicon Nitride and Sialon Ceramics—A Review

R. A. L. Drew1988-01-01Canadian Metallurgical Quarterly

Silicon nitride and sialon ceramics are receiving a great deal of attention as potential high temperature structural materials for engines and other demanding applications. The sintering behaviour and high temperature preformance of these ceramics is strongly influenced by the sintering additives, impurities and powde…

Luminescence characteristics of SrS:CeF/sub 3/ thin-film electroluminescent devices

Vijay Pratap Singh、David C. Morton、Matthew Miller1988-01-01IEEE Transactions on Electron Devices

The response of a blue SrS:CeF/sub 3/ AC thin-film electroluminescent display device to a pulsed voltage train is marked by a luminescence peak at both the leading and trailing edges of the pulse. The height of the leading peak is less than that of the trailing peak at low (near threshold) voltages but grows much larg…

Inactivation of pitting corrosion in copper alloy tubes through control of redox potential

R. Cigna、K. de Ranter、Osvaldo Fumei 等 4 位作者1988-01-01British Corrosion Journal

It has been demonstrated that pitting attack on aluminium brass condenser tubes, due to aggressive estuarine water, can be halted by adding to the cooling water suitable amounts of an oxidising agent without injection of ferrous sulphate. Acid cleaning and prepassivation with benzotriazole are followed by continuous c…

Mechanistic study of methanol decomposition to carbon monoxide and hydrogen over Ni/SiO2-MgO.

Makoto Akiyoshi、Hideshi Hattori1988-01-01石油学会誌

Mechanistic studies of methanol decomposition on Ni/SiO2-MgO were performed by use of deuterium isotopic species. In the exchange reaction of methanol with a deuterium molecule, one hydrogen in methanol was much more readily exchangeable than the other hydrogen atoms, suggesting that dissociation of methanol to form a…

Scanning reflection image from a solid specimen in the scanning electron microscope with a condenser‐objective lens

Oliver C. Wells1988-01-01Scanning

Abstract To achieve the highest resolution in the scanning electron microscope (SEM) or in the scanning transmission electron microscope (STEM), the sample must be mounted in the high‐field region of a condenser‐objective lens. A secondary electron (SE) image can then be obtained using a collector before the lens. It…

Influence of some activating treatments on the structure and processing properties of cellulose

Harry Schleicher、J. Kunze1988-01-01Acta Polymerica

Abstract Different cellulose reactions are influenced by the various structural parameters of the cellulose (structure of pores and fibrils, crystallinity, hydrogen bonds) in different way. For that reason accessibility and reactivity of cellulose are no absolute but only relative parameters. The lines of the 13 C‐NMR…

<title>The Optical Stepper With A High Numerical Aperture I-Line Lens And A Field-By-Field Leveling System</title>

Kyoichi Suwa、Kazuo Ushida、Burn J. Lin1988-01-01Proceedings of SPIE, the International Society for Optical Engineering/Proceedings of SPIE

A high N.A. i-line lens and a field-by-field leveling system have been developed. Resolution of the lens is better than 0.65 &mu;m. The leveling system has achieved ±0.3 u&mu;/field on an experimental basis.

Dosimetry by a cellulose triacetate film dosimeter in proton-beam irradiation.

H. Sunaga、Takashi Agematsu、Ryuichi Tanaka 等 5 位作者1988-01-01RADIOISOTOPES

The basic characteristics of cellulose triacetate (CTA) film dosimeter have been investigated with 5, 8, and 15 MeV proton beams. The optical density change per unit absorbed dose for 8 and 15 MeV protons is the same as that given for electron beams, but a little smaller for 5 MeV protons. The CTA dosimeter was found…

Covalent bonding and spin density in cis-[Fe(bipy) 2 Cl 2 ][FeCl 4 ](bipy = 2,2′-bipyridyl) studied by polarised neutron diffraction

Brian N. Figgis、Philip A. Reynolds、J. B. Forsyth1988-01-01Journal of the Chemical Society Dalton Transactions

Polarised neutron-diffraction experiments on the Pccn polymorph of deuteriated cis-[FeIII-(bipy)2Cl2][FeIIICl4](bipy = 2,2′-bipyridyl) gave 402 unique magnetic structure factors collected with magnetic fields almost parallel to the c and b crystal directions. These data were analysed using a valence-orbital model invo…

Michael Stöcker、Klaus‐Joachim Jens、Trygve Riis 等 4 位作者1988-01-01Journal of the Chemical Society Faraday Transactions 1 Physical Chemistry in Condensed Phases

X.p.s. binding energies and Auger-electron kinetic energies of some Ni-exchanged montmorillonites have been measured. The results are discussed in terms of the bonding states of the elements and their relation to the montmorillonite structure. It is shown that the preparation procedure influences the chemical and stru…

Statistical Treatment of Measured Orientation Relationships

W. Prantl、Ewald Werner、H.P. Stüwe1988-01-01Texture Stress and Microstructure

Using the χ 2 ‐test a statistical method is described, which allows a clear decision whether a given distribution of orientation relationships between adjacent grains is random or not. The validity of this method even for small numbers of orientation relationships, as obtained from electron microscopical measurements,…

Structure of D1.65MoO3 by neutron diffraction

M. Anne、D. Fruchart、S. Derdour 等 4 位作者1988-01-01Journal de physique

The structure of D1.65MoO3 has been refined in the space group C2/m. Half of the deuterium in D1.65MoO3 has been localized using powder neutron diffraction, the other half being dispersed on numerous sites throughout the structure. Insertion of deuterium in the MoO3 network produces only weak structural modifications.
