Adhesion of Electroformed Copper and Nickel to Plastic Laminates

SummaryBy electroforming a copper or nickel surface to give mechanical keying, its adhesion to epoxide laminates can be increased from a peel strength of 4 lb/in to 12 lb/in. By oxidation or chemical treatment of the metal surface an improvement in peel strength of about 1 lb/in is obtained.
