Phase transitions in mixed disordered crystals Rb1-xKxCaF3 investigated by Raman spectroscopy

Ph. Daniel、J. Toulouse、Michel Rousseau1999-01-01The European Physical Journal Applied Physics

Structural antiferrodistortive phase transitions have been studied in mixed disordered perovskites Rb1−xKxCaF3 crystals over a wide concentration range (0 < x < 1) by Raman spectroscopy and a full group theory analysis has been carried out. Raman spectra have been indexed in all phases and a “one mode” behavior is evi…

Preparation of High Corrosion Resistant Titanium Alloys by Spark Plasma Sintering

Jun Onagawa1999-01-01Journal of the Japan Institute of Metals and Materials

Spark plasma sintering (SPS) is a technique to produce various alloys with low cost. The titanium alloys of Ti-M (M=Co, Ni, Nb, Mo, Ru, Pd, Ta, W and Re) were prepared by SPS and those microstructures and corrosion resistance were examined.A powder of M was mixed with the powder of titanium at at% of M from 0.1 to 1.0…

J George、Jan Ivens、Ignace Verpoest1999-01-01Zenodo (CERN European Organization for Nuclear Research)

Natural fibre-nonwoven -mats made of jute, hemp and flax were used for the study. Composite plates of jute/epoxy, hemp/epoxy and flax/epoxy at different volume fractions were prepared by autoclave moulding technique. In jute/epoxy composites, it was found that the impact strength decreases with increasing fibre volume…

Effects of Plastic Deformation on Microstructure and Magnetic Properties of 3Y-TZP/Ba-M Type Ferrite Composite.

Yoshikazu Suzuki、Masanobu Awano、Naoki Kondo 等 4 位作者1999-01-01Journal of the Japan Society of Powder and Powder Metallurgy

The present work focused on developping textile microstructure and improving magnetic properties of the 3Y-ZrO2/Ba-hexaferrite composite by post-plastic deformation. In summary, A 3Y-ZrO2/Ba-hexaferrite composite has been fabricated by powder metallurgical processes. Because BaFe12O19 particles behave like "small magn…

Thermal Decomposition Behavior of Polylactide Fabrics Treated with Flame Retardants.

Hiroh Kubokawa、Tatsuko Hatakeyama1999-01-01Sen i Gakkaishi

The thermal decomposition behavior of polylactide fabrics treated with tetrabromobisphenol A (TBP-A) or triphenylphosphate (TPP) in suspension was studied by thermogravimetry (TG) and differential thermal analysis (DTA). The TG analysis showed that the thermal decomposition of a TBP-A-treated sample with the limiting…

'Tg-.DELTA. Rule' Applied to Semiconducting Vanadate Glasses Containing Different Amounts of Fe2O3.

Tetsuaki Nishida、Jun Iwashita、Shiro Kubuki1999-01-01Journal of the Ceramic Society of Japan

‘Tg-Δ rule’, i.e., a linear relationship between the glass transition temperature (Tg) and the Mössbauer quadrupole splitting (Δ), is applied to semiconducting 10K2O⋅(90-x)V2O5⋅xFe2O3 and 25K2O⋅(75-x)V2O5⋅xFe2O3 glasses (henceforth denominated glass A and B, respectively). Slopes of the straight lines obtained from th…

HANDLING AND DISPOSAL OF NORM IN THE OIL AND GAS INDUSTRY

Terje Strand1999-01-01OpenAlex

Naturally occurring radioactive materials, NORM, in oil and gas production includes hard and porous deposits (scales or sludges) in tubulars and different types of topside equipment as well as condensates extracted as liquids from natural gas. The activity concentrations of 226Ra and 228Ra in scales and sludges covers…

Application of the CIGRE-sensitivity verification for UHF PD detection in three-phase GIS

Martin Knapp1999-01-01OpenAlex

This paper reports results with the new sensitivity verification for ultra high frequency (UHF) partial discharge (PD) detection applied to three-phase SF/sub 6/ gas-insulated substations (GIS) for rated voltages up to 170 kV. The procedure was developed by CIGRE WG 15/33.03.05. The aim is to examine the practical use…

Wettability of Zirconia and Alumina Ceramics by Molten Zinc

Nobuya Shinozaki、Masami Suenaga、Kusuhiro Mukai1999-01-01Materials Transactions JIM

A basic research study for improvement of the galvanizing process has been conducted. The contact angle and surface tension of the molten zinc/oxide ceramic systems were measured at 873 and 973 K by the sessile drop method. The measurement became possible by using sponge titanium as deoxidizer under vacuum. It was fou…

Thermodynamic Limits and Kinetic Probabilities During Homogeneous Nucleation in Liquid Ag-Cu Alloys

Z. Chvoj、S. Srikanth、P. Ramachandrarao1999-01-01Journal of Non-Equilibrium Thermodynamics

Novel kinetic phase diagrams for homogeneous nucleation during non-equilibrium solidification of Ag-Cu alloys were evolved by stochastic modelling. The allowable undercoolings and the composition of the primary nucleating phase at any cooling rate and liquid composition could be read from these diagrams. The calculate…

Kan Ashida、Wataru Nishida、Jyun-ichi Nagata 等 5 位作者1999-01-01Materials Transactions JIM

The effectiveness of Pd-coating on ZrNi against impurity gas exposure was examined. X-ray diffraction profiles revealed that the surfaces of plate and grain samples are readily covered with Pd by electroless plating. Mutual diffusion between the Pd-overlayer and the ZrNi substrate and PdZr formation took place by vacu…

de Haas-van Alphen effect in CrP

Tatsuhiro Nozue、Hisao Kobayashi、Hiroshi Yamagami 等 5 位作者1999-01-01Journal of the Magnetics Society of Japan

The de Haas-van Alphen (dHvA) effect was measured for the paramagnetic compound CrP with an orthorhombic MnP-type structure using a high quality single crystal. Ten branches of dHvA frequency below 9200T are obtained in the (010) plane at 0.6K. Four frequencies in a field along the symmetry axes agree qualitatively wi…

Curling mode in barium ferrite films with perpendicular anisotropy

A. Lisfi、J.C. Lodder1999-01-01IEEE Transactions on Magnetics

The curling mechanism has been found to be an appropriate model to describe magnetisation reversal in BaFe/sub 12/O/sub 19/ films with perpendicular anisotropy. Measurements of rotational hysteresis and the angular dependence of coercivity, remanent coercivity and hysteresis loss support this result.

Influence of phason flips on electronical properties of quasicrystalline model systems

H. Schwabe、G. Kasner、H. Böttger1999-01-01Physical review. B, Condensed matter

The influence of single phason flips on the electronic properties of quasicrystalline model systems is investigated instead of using random tiling models. In a tight binding model of the Penrose lattice there are seven different types of possible phason flips according to the involved vertex stars. Tolerating a random…

STRUCTURE BUILDING PRINCIPLES IN CRYSTALLINE ULTRAPHOSPHATES

D Ouml RTE STACHEL、A. Olbertz1999-01-01Phosphorus Research Bulletin

Crystalline ultraphosphates are a relatively new group of phosphate-rich compounds. We tried to find out a system of systematic order in crystal-chemical sense. Some selection rules as well as necessary conditions are given. In this way, we like to bring in some light into the building principles of these very interes…
