Vibrational spectra of some trialkoxysilanes

William E. Newton、Eugene G. Rochow1970-01-01Journal of the Chemical Society A Inorganic Physical Theoretical

The vibrational spectra of eight alkoxysilanes, (RO)3SiH (R = Me, Et, Prn, Pri, Bun, Bui, Bus, and But), have been recorded, allowing tentative assignments of the various modes to be made. Trends observed in these spectra are discussed and compared with those found in related compounds.

The coalescence of dislocation loops by self climb

J.A. Turnbull1970-01-01Philosophical magazine

During an isothermal anneal of an ion-bombarded UO2 thin foil, electron microscope observations were made of the self-climb velocity of dislocation loops prior to coalescence. A model for loop movement by self-climb has been constructed and two interactions considered to act as the driving force. First, the mutual int…

Lattice Dynamics of Potassium Fluoride

W. Bührer1970-01-01physica status solidi (b)

Abstract By slow neutron inelastic scattering the phonon dispersion relation was measured in potassium fluoride at room temperature for waves propagating along symmetry directions [00ζ], [ζζ0], and [ζζζ]. The experiments were performed on the reactor Diorit at Würenlingen, using a triple axis spectrometer. The results…

Rotational analysis of a 1?+-1?+ system of gaseous SrS

María Marcano、R F Barrow1970-01-01Transactions of the Faraday Society

Red-degraded bands observed in absorption in the region 3600–3900 Å when strontium sulphide is heated in a carbon tube furnace to about 2000°C are assigned to a 1Σ+–1Σ+ system of SrS. The lower state is probably the ground state : the upper state is strongly perturbed. Constants derived from the analysis of five bands…

Interactions of Clay Minerals with Organic Monomers

B. K. G. Theng、G. F. Walker1970-01-01Israel Journal of Chemistry

Abstract The role of clay minerals in influencing the polymerization of organic monomers can be ascribed to a charge transfer between the clay and the adsorbed species. Polymerization may be either initiated or inhibited by the clays.

Photoelectrochemical Processes on Silver-Silver Oxide Electrodes

R. Memming、F. Möllers、G. Neumann1970-01-01Journal of The Electrochemical Society

Oxidation and reduction processes of silver‐silver oxide electrodes were studied, especially the influence of light excitation on these processes. The experimental results have shown that light absorption by silver (I) oxide leads to an anodic oxidation to silver (II) oxide. The electrochemical reduction of silver (II…

Single-crystal polarized spectrum and paramagnetic anisotropy of five-co-ordinate, square pyramidal cobalt(II) complexes

M. Gerloch、J. Kohl、J. Lewis 等 4 位作者1970-01-01Journal of the Chemical Society A Inorganic Physical Theoretical

The single-crystal polarized spectrum of [(Ph2MeAsO)4CoNO3]+NO3– has been recorded at 300, 77, and 20 K and principal magnetic susceptibilities of single crystals measured in the range 300–90 K. These properties have been interpreted within a point-charge crystal-field model and the results compared with those for the…

Single-crystal electronic and electron spin resonance spectra of 2,2′-bipyridylbis(hexafluoroacetylacetonato)copper( II )

R. J. Dudley、B. J. Hathaway1970-01-01Journal of the Chemical Society A Inorganic Physical Theoretical

The polarised single-crystal electronic and e.s.r. spectra of 2,2′-bipyridylbis(hexafluoroacetylacetonato)copper(II) have been measured. The correlation of the single-crystal electronic and e.s.r. spectral data with the crystallographic data indicates a dxy ground state. The polarised single-crystal electronic spectra…

Computed Radial Stresses In A Concrete TargetPenetrated By A Steel Projectile

Gary R. Johnson、Stephen R. Beissel、Timothy J. Holmquist 等 4 位作者1970-01-01WIT transactions on the built environment

This paper provides computed radial stresses and penetration depth for a concrete target that is impacted by an ogive-nose steel projectile at a velocity of 315 m/s. The computed results are in good agreement with recently published experimental results. Also included is a description of the concrete model.

General Threshold Theory of Electronic Emission from the Surface of a Metal

А.М. Бродский、Yu. Ya. Gurevich、V. G. Levich1970-01-01physica status solidi (b)

Abstract A unified theory of field‐, thermo‐, and photoemission from metal surface is considered, and the general quantum‐mechanical methods for the investigation of the threshold phenomena are applied. As result the corresponding final expressions are obtained in such a form that it is possible to apply immediately t…

Crystal structure of tilleyite: Refinement and coordination

S. J. Louisnathan、J. V. Smith1970-01-01Zeitschrift für Kristallographie

The atomic parameters of a natural tilleyite [a = 15.108(3), b = 10.241(1), c = 7.579( 1) A, fJ = 105.17 (1) 0] were refined by least squares using threedimensional data. The distortions of the columns of calcium-oxygen octahedra are mostly explainable by shortening of shared edges. In the Si207 group the Si-O bridge…

Electron Microscopic and Kinetic Study of the Flocculation of Calcium Montmorillonite

R. F. Fitzsimmons、A. M. Posner、J. P. Quirk1970-01-01Israel Journal of Chemistry

Abstract Electron microscope studies have shown that calcium montmorillonite, originally dispersed into separate platelets, flocculates with time to form large flat sheet‐like particles which exhibit pronounced flow birefringence. Although kinetic studies indicate for rapid salt flocculation face to face condensation…
