Gadolinium as a contrast agent for NMR.

Gadolinium chloride (GdCl3) was studied as a contrast agent for nuclear magnetic resonance. This rare-earth element dramatically alters proton resonance (paramagnetic moment = 10.8 Bohr magnetons).
