Glass Forming Region and Ti4+ Co-Ordination Number in R2O-TiO2 (R=Rb, K, Na) and BaO-TiO2 Binary Glasses

Katsuhiko Yoshimaru、Yasuaki UEDA、Kenji Morinaga 等 4 位作者1984-01-01Journal of the Ceramic Association Japan

On the Representative Domain

Qi-Keng Lu1984-01-01Birkhäuser Boston eBooks

Professor Stefan Bergman [1] introduced the idea of Repräsentantenbereich of a bounded domain in ℂn. However the strict definition of a representative domain is not very clear as noted in [2]. It seems that he called the image f( ) of the mapping f: 1 $$ {\text{z}} \to \frac{{\partial \log \frac{{{\text{k}}({\text{z}}…

PSEUDO WEAK PHASE OBJECT APPROXIMATION IN HIGH RESOLUTION ELECTRON MICROSCOPY

Fanghua Li、TANG DONG、中国科学院物理研究所1984-01-01Acta Physica Sinica

A pseudo weak phase object approximation to the principle of image formation in high resolution electron microscopy is presented. It is pointed out that there is the possibility of preferential revealing lighter or heavier atoms in the crystal structure in high resolution electron micrographs by choicing different cry…

Excited state redox properties of phthalocyanines: influence of the axial ligand on the rates of relaxation and electron-transfer quenching of the lowest 3 ππ* excited state

G. Ferraudi、D. Rajendra Prasad1984-01-01Journal of the Chemical Society Dalton Transactions

Laser flash excitations at 640 nm have been used to generate the transient spectra of the lowest-lying 3ππ* state of phthalocyaninatoruthenium(II) complexes. The properties of this excited state such as the positions of the maxima, λmax.= 500 ± 30 nm, and lifetimes, t½= 70–4 500 ns, exhibit a large dependence on the e…

Optimization of optical parameters and electric field distribution in multilayers

F. Demichelis、E. Mezzetti-Minetti、Luigi Tallone 等 4 位作者1984-01-01Applied Optics

Multilayer coatings for high-power laser mirrors and lenses have been optimized by a particular constrained gradient method to reach together with a reduction of damage threshold (i.e., suppression of the peak electric field), good values of optical parameters (reflectance or transmittance). The problem has been solve…

Electrochemical Studies of the Corrosion of Ni and Fe in Molten Carbonate

Atsushi Nishikata、Shirō Haruyama1984-01-01Journal of the Japan Institute of Metals and Materials

Electrochemical studies of corrosion of Ni, Fe and their alloys have been made in molten carbonate at 973 K by using potentiodynamic polarization and polarization resistance methods. It was concluded that metallic corrosion in molten carbonate was well explained by the mixed potential theory. Partial cathodic reaction…

Ecological studies on the littoral attaching micro-algae - I. The cell division rates of ten species of attaching diatoms in natural seawater.

Nobuhiko Tanaka1984-01-01NIPPON SUISAN GAKKAISHI

The cell division rates of ten species of attaching diatoms isolated from Ago Bay were measured on the bottom of the culture vessel with running nutrient-poor natural seawater under the illumination of 4000 lx with a dark/light cycle of 10/14 hours at ca. 19°C. The exchange rate of running seawater through the culture…

Structure of the Laves Phase Observed in Polystyrene Latexes

Masayuki Hasaka、Hiromichi Nakashima、K. Oki1984-01-01Transactions of the Japan Institute of Metals

This paper describes the light-microscopic observations of polystyrene latexes with spherical particles of two different diameters, d and 1.4–1.9d. Polystyrene latexes are available for simulating real structures in intermetallic compounds. An amorphous state appeared for a few hours after stirring or vibrating the la…

Anticapsin, an active-site directed irreversible inhibitor of glucosamine-6-phosphate synthetase from Escherichia coli.

Henryk Chmara、H Zähner、Edward Borowski1984-01-01The Journal of Antibiotics

Glucosamine-6-phosphate synthetase from Escherichia coli K-12 is progressively inactivated L-beta-(2,3-epoxycyclohexyl-4-on)alanine (anticapsin). With increasing concentrations of anticapsin the reaction exhibits rate saturation: the minimum inactivation half-time is 1.15 minutes, with a Kin alpha ct of 2.5 microM. Gl…

Blue Phase one : first optical measurements of the order parameter

R. Barbet-Massin、P. Pierański1984-01-01Journal de Physique Lettres

We have recently developed a method of nucleation of large perfect monocrystallites of Blue Phases on glass surfaces. We have obtained spectra of Bragg-reflected light on such crystallites of BPI and show that they can be very easily interpreted in terms of the dynamical theory of light diffraction. From a comparison…

The order parameter dependence of the flexoelectric coefficients in nematic liquid crystals

M. A. Osipov1984-01-01Journal de Physique Lettres

Within the general framework of Landau-de Gennes theory for nematic liquid crystals it is shown that the difference of flexoelectric coefficients e* = e1 - e3 ∼ S2 , where S is the nematic order parameter. This result agrees with the molecular theory but is in contradiction with recent measurements of the constant e*…

A Moraxella strain capable of utilizing 1, 4-type polybutadiene as a sole source of carbon was isolated from soil. About 40% of polybutadiene having a number average molecular weight (Mn) of 2, 350 was degraded and assimilated by the strain in 5 days. A polybutadiene sample with an Mn of 16, 100, however, was hardly d…

Effect of Jamming on Seam Pucker in Plain Woven Fabrics

Peter Schwartz1984-01-01Textile Research Journal

Geometrical relationships between fabric and sewing thread are developed for lock- stitch seams in plain woven fabrics. The tendency to pucker is associated with structural jamming within the fabric. Jamming increases with stitch count and decreases with thread size as reported in earlier studies.
