MnBi particles were prepared by grinding sintered MnBi in a ball mill. The coercivity of these MnBi particles was measured at 300 K and 85 K. At 300 K, the coercivity increased remarkably by grinding, and showed the highest value of 16000 Oe. At 85 K, the coercivity was very low compared with that at 300 K, and was ab…

The influence of water vapor pressure on the equilibrium sodium vapor densities over well‐stirred silica‐based glass melts was investigated. Sodium was assumed to be present in the vapor as Na and NaOH molecules, and the activity of Na.O in the melt was calculated as a function of water vapor pressure above the melt.

Electron paramagnetic resonance studies of Mo3+ ion in NH4Al(SO4)2⋅12H2O single crystals are made at X-band frequencies and at room temperature. It is found that there are four magnetically inequivalent complexes of Mo3+ ion in the lattice which exhibit tirgonal symmetry. The angular variation of the fine structure li…

The program discussed was designed to improve weld quality in Ti-662 sheet. The approach was based on establishing an alloy addition which could be introduced to the weld puddle via the welding filler metal and would provide a relatively homogeneous fine precipitate for grain size control. Yttrium was selected because…

Abstract The work reported here concerns the peroxide crosslinking of ethylene–vinyl acetate rubber. Calculated values for scission‐to‐crosslinking ratios are higher for EVA than for low‐density polyethylene. In the temperature range from 150 to 200°C at a constant peroxide content, a rise in temperature results in a…

The amount and type of borohydride-reducible crosslinks in collagen have been examined as a function of animal age. In a variety of bovine, canine and human tissues the level of redicible crosslinks decreases with time and the ratios of individual compounds change. There is both tissue and species specificity in the e…
