Stacking of individual graphene sheets (GS) is effectively inhibited by introducing one-dimensional carbon nanotubes (CNTs) to form a 3-D hierarchical structure which significantly enhances the electrochemical capacitive performances of GS-based composites. From SEM images, inserting proper quantity of CNTs as nanospa…

Reduced graphene oxide was used as a catalyst for reduction of nitrobenzene at room temperature. High catalytic activity and stability were exhibited in circular experiments. The catalytic procedure was in situ monitored by NMR and N-phenylhydroxylamine was proved to be the intermediate in this catalytic reaction.

A conceptually new "light-up" biosensor with a high specificity for d-glucose (Glu) in aqueous media has been developed. The emission from a tetraphenylethene (TPE)-cored diboronic acid (1) was greatly boosted when the fluorogen was oligomerized with Glu because of restriction of the intramolecular rotations of the ar…

Dendritic macromolecules are three-dimentional polymers with branch-on-branch topology of which dendrimers and hyperbranched polymers (HPs) are the two most researched subclasses. This paper reviews the recent progress of host-guest supramolecular chemistry in terms of various HPs and dendrimers. Because of the highly…

The Kolmogorov-Johnson-Mehl-Avrami model for isothermal transformation kinetics is universal under specific assumptions. However, the experimental Avrami exponent deviates from the universal value. In this context, we study the effect of transient heterogeneous nucleation on the Avrami exponent for bulk materials and…

Abstract (BTM-TS-TTP)4PF6, where BTM-TS-TTP is 2-[4,5-bis(methylthio)-1,3-dithiol-2-ylidene]-5-(1,3-diselenol-2-ylidene)-1,3,4,6-tetrathiapentalene, has been prepared. An X-ray structure analysis reveals that it has a λ-type array of the donors. It exhibited metallic conducting behavior down to 5 K.
