Vanadium-bearing tourmaline in metacherts from Chvojnica, Slovak Republic: crystal chemistry and multistage evolution

P. Bacik、Štefan Méres、Pavel Uher2011-02-01The Canadian Mineralogist

Vanadium-bearing tourmaline was found in Paleozoic metacherts near Chvojnica in the Stražovske vrchy Mountains, Slovakia. The geochemistry of metacherts suggests that the protolith was deposited under anoxic conditions. Tourmaline from Chvojnica displays strong chemical zoning, with high Mg and a very low Fe content.…

Žydrūnas Kavaliauskas、Liutauras Marcinauskas、Pranas Valatkevičius2011-02-01Acta Physica Polonica A

In this study a carbon and NiO/carbon electrodes were prepared and investigated. The surface roughness increases with the increase of the torch power. The addition of the NiO changes the surface structure from a snowflake-like to a mesh-like. It was demonstrated that the addition of the nickel oxide to amorphous carbo…

Electronic Properties and Molecular Simulations of Polyoxometalates

Carles Bó、Josep M. Poblet2011-02-01Israel Journal of Chemistry

Abstract Taking classical polyoxometalates such as Lindqvist, Keggin, Dawson, and Preyssler anions as the starting point, a walk is taken through the electronic and structural properties of polyoxoanions in solution. We will discuss nucleation mechanisms, redox properties, and isomerism of polyoxometalates. The effect…

Acoustic response from a bubble pulsating near a fluid layer of finite density and thickness

Alexander A. Doinikov、Leila Aired、Ayache Bouakaz2011-02-01The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America

A theory is developed that allows one to consider the dynamics of an acoustically induced bubble near a fluid layer of finite density and thickness. The theory reveals that, as far as the scattered field of a bubble in the far-field zone is concerned, the layer thickness is a very important factor because the behavior…
