A flexible supercapacitor is developed by combining reduced graphene oxide (rGO), cellulose and RTIL. The device exhibited good electrochemical performance with an energy density of 6.28 W h kg <sup>−1</sup> at a power density of 1.32 kW kg <sup>−1</sup> in a 6 M KOH electrolyte.
