Clusters, species concepts, and Morphological Evolution of Diatoms

Edward C. Theriot1992-06-01Systematic Biology

Empirical comparison of species concepts can be made by taking advantage of a common operational exigency: the use of phenotypically irreducible clusters of individuals as first order estimates of species. A phylogenetic analysis of diatoms was undertaken using such clusters as terminal taxa. Cladistic analysis and bi…

Radiotracer Study of the Preparation of High‐Purity Lanthanum Fluoride

Kenneth J. Ewing、James Jaganathan、Laura Peitersen 等 6 位作者1992-06-01Journal of the American Ceramic Society

The behavior of the impurities iron, cobalt, yttrium, and cerium is determined via radiotracer techniques for the preparation of high‐purity lanthanum fluoride. The behavior of nickel and copper during the coprecipitation of a lanthanum nitrate solution is determined by graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometric…

The zinc analogue of schulenbergite, from Ramsbeck, Germany

A. Livingstone、B. R. Jackson、P. J. Davidson1992-06-01Mineralogical Magazine

Abstract A blue-green scaly coating on a slaty specimen from the Bastenberg mine, near Ramsbeck, Germany, yielded an X-ray powder pattern akin to schulenbergite. Chemically it is the zinc analogue of schulenbergite. Electron-probe data, XRF and ICP/OES analyses are presented which demonstrate two distinct zinc-rich co…

Catalytic Removal of Trimethylamine, an Offensive-Odor Component, by Selective Oxidative Decomposition to N2, CO2, and H2O over Copper-Exchanged Zeolites

Hiroki Kuwabara、Toshio Okuhara、Makoto Misono1992-06-01Chemistry Letters

Abstract Copper-exchanged zeolites catalyzed the oxidative decomposition of (CH3)3N to N2, CO2, and H2O. The selectivity to N2 was 92% and the formation of NOx was less than 5 ppm, when 8000 ppm of (CH3)3N with O2 (20%) was flowed over copper-exchanged Y zeolite at 573 K.

Dynamic Criterion for Cavitation of Bubbles

Claire Dugué、D. H. Fruman、Jean-Yves Billard 等 4 位作者1992-06-01Journal of Fluids Engineering

The classical criterion for cavitation of bubbles is based on the assumption that the bubbles are subjected to a quasi-steady pressure change and that the non condensible gas within the cavity behaves isothermally. No simple criterion accounting for the dynamic terms in the Rayleigh-Plesset equation is presently avail…

Joint use of XPS and Auger techniques for the identification of chemical state of copper in spent catalysts

A. Guerrero-Ruı́z、I. Rodrı́guez-Ramos、Guillermo J. Siri 等 4 位作者1992-06-01Surface and Interface Analysis

Abstract X‐ray photoelectron and x‐ray‐induced Auger spectroscopic analyses of various copper‐containing catalysts have been used to reveal the chemical state of copper during on‐stream in the dehydrogenation of methanol to methyl formate. Three catalyst systems have been selected for this purpose: (1) supported prepa…

Crystallization of poly(aryl ether ketones). 2. Double peak melting behavior of PEEKK

K. Könnecke1992-06-01Die Angewandte Makromolekulare Chemie

Abstract Annealing poly(ether ether ketone ketone) (PEEKK) between glass transition and melting temperature generally results in a pronounced double peak melting behavior as obtained by DSC. Detailed investigations of the dependence of this double peak melting behavior on annealing conditions and experimental paramete…

AC degradation of impregnated polypropylene films

E. Sebillotte、S. Theoleyre、Sylvère Saïd 等 5 位作者1992-06-01IEEE Transactions on Electrical Insulation

The aging of impregnated polypropylene (PP) film has been carried out on capacitor models at 80 degrees C under 50 Hz AC electrical stress (137 V/sub rms// mu m). The damage was estimated from the local measurement of the breakdown voltage of the PP film. The effects of impurities (electrolyte, water, oxygen) added to…

Density of Ga 2 O 3 Liquid

Donald B. Dingwell1992-06-01Journal of the American Ceramic Society

The density of Ga 2 O 3 liquid in equilibrium with air has been measured at 1800 0 to 1900 0 C using an Ir double‐bob Archimedean method. The data yield the following description of the density of Ga 2 O 3 liquid: ρ= 4.8374(84)–0.00065(12)(T −1850 0 C). This density‐temperature relationship is compared with the partia…
