Correlation between the green photoluminescence band and the peroxy radical in γ-irradiated silica glass

Yuryo Sakurai、Kaya Nagasawa2000-07-01Journal of Applied Physics

We studied the origin of a green photoluminescence (PL) in silica glass at about 2.25 eV using electron spin resonance. The 2.25 eV PL band (lifetime: ∼300 ns, full width at half maximum: ∼0.2 eV) appears strong in γ-irradiated high-oxygen content silica glass suggesting that this PL is associated with a large surplus…

Dimitrios Yfantis、Alexandros Yfantis、B. Tzalas 等 4 位作者2000-07-01CORROSION

Tinplate is used widely in the canning industry. Its passivation treatment involves mainly the use of chromium, and it is applied typically with the cathodic dichromate (CDC) procedure. The present study provided evidence by means of laboratory testing in aerobic and anaerobic conditions that the combination of an acr…

High porosity nanocrystalline Si thin films have been deposited using a high density plasma approach at temperatures as low as 100 °C. These films exhibit the same unique properties, such as visible luminescence and gas sensitivity, that are seen in electrochemically etched Si (i.e., porous Si). The nanostructure cons…

Dielectric and electromechanical properties of barium titanate single crystals grown by templated grain growth

Paul W. Rehrig、Susan Trolier‐McKinstry、Seung-Eek Park 等 4 位作者2000-07-01IEEE Transactions on Ultrasonics Ferroelectrics and Frequency Control

Single crystals of BaTiO(3) were grown by templated grain growth (TGG). TGG involves contacting a single crystal "template" to a sintered polycrystalline matrix, then heating the assemblage to a temperature that promotes the migration of the single crystal boundary through the matrix. In this investigation the propert…
