Pattern recognition of partial discharge in XLPE cables using a neural network

H. Suzuki、Takeshi Endoh1992-06-01IEEE Transactions on Electrical Insulation

An experimental study of pattern recognition of partial discharge (PD) in a crosslinked polyethylene (XLPE) cable by using a neural network (NN) system is described. The NN system was a three-layer artificial neural network system with feedforward connections, and its learning method was a backpropagation algorithm in…

Tight-binding molecular-dynamics study of liquid Si

C.Z. Wang、C. T. Chan、Kai‐Ming Ho1992-06-01Physical review. B, Condensed matter

We have carried out molecular-dynamics simulation of liquid Si using the tight-binding Hamiltonian proposed by Goodwin, Skinner and Pettifor. The simulation results on the structural and dynamical properties (radial and angular distribution functions, the electronic density-of-states, and the diffusion constant) are p…

Mesogenic behaviour in some pyrazole and isoxazole derivatives

JOAQUIN BARBERA、Carlos Cativiela、José Luís Serrano 等 4 位作者1992-06-01Liquid Crystals

Several aromatic β-diketones with a different number of alkyloxy groups in the aromatic rings and their derived pyrazoles, isoxazoles and thallium (I) complexes have been synthesized. The potential mesomorphic properties of these compounds have been investigated by optical microscopy, DSC and X-ray diffraction. The py…

Stability and reconstitution of D-glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase from the hyperthermophilic eubacterium Thermotoga maritima.

Verena Rehaber、Rainer Jaenicke1992-06-01Journal of Biological Chemistry

The molecular basis of thermal stability of globular proteins is a highly significant yet unsolved problem. The most promising approach to its solution is the investigation of the structure-function relationship of homologous enzymes from mesophilic and thermophilic sources. In this context, D-glyceraldehyde-3-phospha…

Evidence for polyicosahedral structure in ammoniated iron, cobalt, and nickel clusters

E. K. Parks、Bernd Winter、T. D. Klots 等 4 位作者1992-06-01The Journal of Chemical Physics

Experimental evidence is presented that small (19- to 34-atom) clusters of iron, cobalt, and nickel tend to adopt polyicosahedral structure when saturated with ammonia. Clusters in the polyicosahedral series (having 19, 23, 26, 29, 32, and 34 atoms) often saturate with 12 NH3 molecules, the expected number for polyico…

Katsunori Yogo、Satoru Tanaka、Michito Ihara 等 5 位作者1992-06-01Chemistry Letters

Abstract The reduction of NO with propane in the presence of excess oxygen was investigated using gallium ion-exchanged zeolite catalysts, among which ferrierite(Ga-ferrierite) and ZSM-5(Ga-ZSM-5) showed high activity in a wide range of reaction temperature.

Dielectric studies of liquid crystals under high pressure: Static permittivity and dielectric relaxation in the nematic phase of pentylcyanobiphenyl (5CB)

H.-G. Kreul、S. Urban、A. Würflinger1992-06-01Physical Review A

Dielectric studies of a thermotropic-liquid-crystalline substance [pentylcyanobiphenyl (5CB)] under high pressure are reported. Measurements of a complex dielectric permittivity were carried out in the pressure range 0.1--160 MPa, the frequency range 1 kHz--13 MHz, and the temperature range 287--343 K. Static permitti…

Phosphate speciation in potassium aluminosilicate glasses

Hao Gan、P. C. Hess1992-06-01American Mineralogist

Parallel and perpendicular-polarized Raman, MAS and static 31 P NMR spectra were collected to investigate phosphate speciation in potassium aluminosilicate glasses. Phosphate speciation is critically dependent on the K/(K+Al)(K * ) ratio.

Structure of symmetric polyolefin block copolymer thin films

Mark D. Foster、Mohan Sikka、Navjot Singh 等 6 位作者1992-06-01The Journal of Chemical Physics

The microstructure of thin films of nearly symmetric poly(ethylene–propylene)–poly(ethylethylene) (PEP-PEE) diblock copolymers (f=0.55, where f is the volume fraction of PEP) was characterized by neutron reflectometry (NR). A symmetric film structure in which the PEE block segregates preferentially to both interfaces…

Clusters, species concepts, and Morphological Evolution of Diatoms

Edward C. Theriot1992-06-01Systematic Biology

Empirical comparison of species concepts can be made by taking advantage of a common operational exigency: the use of phenotypically irreducible clusters of individuals as first order estimates of species. A phylogenetic analysis of diatoms was undertaken using such clusters as terminal taxa. Cladistic analysis and bi…

The zinc analogue of schulenbergite, from Ramsbeck, Germany

A. Livingstone、B. R. Jackson、P. J. Davidson1992-06-01Mineralogical Magazine

Abstract A blue-green scaly coating on a slaty specimen from the Bastenberg mine, near Ramsbeck, Germany, yielded an X-ray powder pattern akin to schulenbergite. Chemically it is the zinc analogue of schulenbergite. Electron-probe data, XRF and ICP/OES analyses are presented which demonstrate two distinct zinc-rich co…

Hiroki Kuwabara、Toshio Okuhara、Makoto Misono1992-06-01Chemistry Letters

Abstract Copper-exchanged zeolites catalyzed the oxidative decomposition of (CH3)3N to N2, CO2, and H2O. The selectivity to N2 was 92% and the formation of NOx was less than 5 ppm, when 8000 ppm of (CH3)3N with O2 (20%) was flowed over copper-exchanged Y zeolite at 573 K.

Dynamic Criterion for Cavitation of Bubbles

Claire Dugué、D. H. Fruman、Jean-Yves Billard 等 4 位作者1992-06-01Journal of Fluids Engineering

The classical criterion for cavitation of bubbles is based on the assumption that the bubbles are subjected to a quasi-steady pressure change and that the non condensible gas within the cavity behaves isothermally. No simple criterion accounting for the dynamic terms in the Rayleigh-Plesset equation is presently avail…
