Abstract
In present years, the synthesis of iron oxide nanoparticles (IONPs) has established excessive potential in biological applications due to their non-toxic role in biological systems, biocompatibility, and biodegradability. Ongoing research efforts focused on IONPs in the expansion of novel technologies as they can be s…
Pandanus atrocarpus, or locally known as mengkuang plant is likely to be potential natural fibre reinforcement in composite. Both the Pandanus leaves, and fibres extracted from the Pandanus leaves were used in composite fabrication. Fibres were extracted from Pandanus leaves with water retting process. Pandanus compos…
<p>The recent rise in applications of thermoelectric materials has attracted interest in studies toward the fabrication of thermoelectric materials using mass production techniques. In this study, we successfully fabricate n-type Bi2Te2.7…
Abstract In conclusion we must point out that the basic text book for this subject is C. H. Leigh-Dugmore's “Microscopy of Rubber”. Unfortunately parts of this excellent book need extending to cover modern developments some of which have been reviewed in this paper.
Different types of chemical treatment of textile are widely applied in advanced textile. Finishing of textile can provide additional functional properties for products or/and to improve the appearance of final product as well as to improve their mechanical properties. In this research the influence of the industrial t…
Three known compounds were isolated from the n-hexane extract of the rihzomes of Sansevieria hyacinthoides, they were two steriods; β- sitosterol (1) and daucosterol (2), and a flavonoid; isokaemferide (3). The structures of the compounds were elucidated on the basis of NMR spectral analysis as well as comparison with…
The reaction between three epimeric tri-2-norbornylboranes and neutral 30% aqueous hydrogen peroxide at 25° has been investigated in the absence and presence of iodine and of carbon tetrachloride. Whereas norbornane, 2,2′-binorbornane, norbornyl iodide, and norbornyl chloride are produced through an intermediate norbo…
Abstract Heat stability in air of chemically crosslinked polyethylene loaded with medium thermal (MT) carbon black was studied as a function of temperature and carbon black content. Weight loss at 200° to 250°C is practically independent of the carbon black concentration. Modulus–temperature curves are changed with va…
Roles of alloy-constituting elements on the corrosion behavior of the sputter-depositedamorphous W-Zr-(15-33)Cr alloys was studied in 1 M NaOH solution open to air at 25°Cusing corrosion tests and open circuit potential measurements. Zirconium and chromiummetals act synergistically with tungsten in enhancing the corro…
Abstract The crystallographic and magnetic properties of nearly equiatomic nickel–manganese alloys have been investigated by X‐ray and neutron diffraction techniques as well as by classical susceptibility measurements. It has been found that the antiferromagnetic–paramagnetic phase transition takes place in most of th…
Cadmium oxide (CdO) thin films have been deposited by a locally developed spray pyrolysis method onto glass substrate at 473K. The optical and electrical properties of the as-deposited and annealed films are studied in details. The surface morphology of the samples was studied by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Th…
Abstract The Raman spectra of HSO 3 Cl in CH 3 COOH and NaSO 3 Cl in N,N ‐dimethylacetamide are recorded. From these spectra the SO 3 Cl − frequencies are reassigned. The new assignment is in agreement with the Raman spectra of solid (CH 3 ) 4 N · SO 3 Cl, SCl 4 · SO 3 , SeCl 4 · SO 3 and TeCl 4 · SO 3 .
Algal floristic work carried out in Iran between 1853 and 1981 have been reviewed and compared with the results obtained in a series of recent studies (2000-2007). Algal samples for the recent studies were collected mainly from different inland aquatic habitats. On the basis of data from published and the recent studi…
The process of synthesis of granular low-modulus zeolites from a mixture of metakaolin and solid sodium hydroxide depending on the method of pre-treatment (mechanochemical activation or ultrasonic treatment) has been investigated. The vibration roller-ring mill VM-4 (vibration frequency 930 min–1) was used for mechano…
Ternary amorphous or/and nanocrystalline Zr-(12–18)Cr–W alloys were successfullyprepared by direct current (DC) magnetron sputtering. The corrosion rates of Zr-(12-18)Cr-W alloys are in the range of 1-2 x 10-3 mm/y which are even lower than those of thesputter-deposited binary W-Zr and W-Cr alloys, and are nearly one…
The quality of UO 2 single crystals grown by arc‐melting, by a modified floating‐zone technique (ICZG), and by vapor deposition was studied using etch‐pit patterns, electron microscopy, and X‐ray topography. These techniques complemented each other and indicated significant variations between the crystals grown by the…
Anodic oxidation of 99.99% aluminum sheets were conducted in solutions of several kinds of mono-carboxylic acids by applying d. c. of 1.87Amp/dm2. The concentrations of the solutions for baths were from 0.01mot/l to saturation and their temperature were from 20°C to boiling points.Porous and thick anodic oxide coating…
Abstract Crystals of NaI, KI, and KCl have been quenched from temperatures as high as 450 °C by rapid immersion in liquid nitrogen. In the case of NaI, very strong absorption bands at 255 nm (Q 1 ) and 226 nm (Q 2 ) may be produced by quenching the crystal from about 360 °C. The excitation spectrum for a characteristi…
