It is shown that the properties of the upper critical fields in organic superconductors can be understood in terms of pure type II superconductivity. The experimental observation of high critical fields violating Clogston's criterion could give support in favour of triplet-paired superconductivity.

Several new series with the general formula [graphic] in which R2 is a lateral unbranched or branched chain of up to considerable length, were prepared. The compounds exhibit nematic properties. With the aid of molecular statistical theories and other arguments, we discuss the conformations of the lateral substituents…

A major investigation of the oxygen-deficient perovskite phase SrFeO3–y(0.15 < y < 0.25) has been carried out using 57Fe Mössbauer spectroscopy, X-ray powder diffraction, and magnetic susceptibility measurements. The Mössbauer spectra have been recorded for a variety of samples at many temperatures in the range 4.2–90…

A new material design method of laminated fibrous composite plates with required flexural stiffness is proposed. The selection of kinds of fibers and matrices and the determination of fiber orientation angles can be done directly from the imposed conditions on flexural stiffness of laminated plates. The laminated comp…

A phenomenological model for frustrated smectics with competition for order at incommensurate wavevectors k1 and k2 is used to study phase diagrams and x-ray scattering intensity within mean field theory. It is shown that in addition to the nematic (N) and monolayer (SA1) phases, the phase diagram may involve two dist…

Abstract— The photophysical and photochemical properties of thiophene derivatives have been studied by fluorescence and by 353 nm laser flash spectroscopy. α‐Terthienyl and its derivatives show a moderate fluorescence quantum yield (less than 0.1) in cyclohexane, ethanol, or TritonX–100 micelles. An additional thiophe…
