Evidence for collective spin dynamics above the ordering temperature inLa1−xCaxMnO3+δ

S. B. Oseroff、M. S. Torikachvili、Joseph M. Singley 等 6 位作者1996-03-01Physical review. B, Condensed matter

We have measured the temperature dependence of the electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) of ${\mathrm{La}}_{1\mathrm{\ensuremath{-}}\mathit{x}}$${\mathrm{Ca}}_{\mathit{x}}$${\mathrm{MnO}}_{3+\mathrm{\ensuremath{\delta}}}$ for 0.0\ensuremath{\le}x\ensuremath{\le}1 at 9.2 and 35 GHz from 270 to 800 K. We vary \ensuremat…

Oxide surfaces

Hans‐Joachim Freund、H. Kuhlenbeck、Volker Staemmler1996-03-01Reports on Progress in Physics

We review the current knowledge of the geometric and electronic structure of oxide surfaces. In particular, material published during the last five years and going beyond the latest book by Henrich and Cox, Surface Science of Oxide Surfaces, is documented. In addition to the discussion of effects on and in bulk oxide…

Synthesis of a Stable Hexagonally Packed Mesoporous Niobium Oxide Molecular Sieve Through a Novel Ligand‐Assisted Templating Mechanism

David M. Antonelli、Jackie Y. Ying1996-03-01Angewandte Chemie International Edition in English

Since the porous structure is completely retained upon surfactant removal , Nb‐TMS1, a hexagonally packed mesoporous transition metal oxide, is an interesting molecular sieve. The synthesis of this material was accomplished by a novel route in which the inorganic precursor 1 and the surfactant 2 were attached by a cov…

Another look at the deterioration of calcium aluminate cement concrete

Jaromir Jambor、Jan Skalny1996-03-01Materiales de Construccion

Potential degradation of concrete structures made of calcium aluminate cement (CAC) is well known and is caused by transformation (conversion) of the thermodynamically metastable into stable calcium aluminate hydrate phases. This recrystallization is influenced by temperature and humidity; the structural degradation o…

New "sandwich" structures conformed from three dimensional

Juan J. Alba、Miguel A. Jiménez、A. Miravete1996-03-01Materiales de Construccion

Poor interlaminar properties as well as poor-skin-to-core adhesion properties are very often the common existing problems we find when designing with "sandwich" structures. A new type of 3D-fabric "sandwich" structure is being developed in order to avoid these problems. Although the manufacturing process is very simpl…

Aplicación de la espectroscopia infrarroja al estudio de cemento aluminoso

Lucía Fernández-Carrasco、Tomás Vázquez1996-03-01Materiales de Construccion

Mineralogical components of hydrated high alumina cement were studied by means of infrared absorption spectroscopy. The same technique was also used to analyze the samples obtained from beams that had been made with high alumina concrete. The article points up the importance of this technique as complementary to other…

Molecular Cloning and Characterization of a cDNA for the r Subunit of a G Protein from Rice

Atsushi Ishikawa、Yuka Iwasaki、Tadashi Asahi1996-03-01Plant and Cell Physiology

We isolated a cDNA for the rβ subunit of a heterotrimeric G protein from rice (Oryza sativa L. cv. Nipponbare). The amino acid sequence deduced from the cDNA was 76% and 94% homologus to the sequences of the rβ subunits from Arabidopsis and maize (AGrβ1 and ZGrβ1), respectively.

Effect of Surface Area on the Oxidation of Methane over SolidOxide Solution Catalyst La0.8Sr0.2MnO3

N. Gunasekaran、Salma Saddawi、James J. Carberry1996-03-01Journal of Catalysis

Solid oxide solutions of the type La0.8Sr0.2MnO3with BETsurface areas of 28, 20, 12, and 8 m2/g were prepared bysintering at 700, 800, 900, and 1000°C, respectively. Thecatalysts were tested for methane total oxidation in a fixed bedreactor with feed containing 0.28% CH4, 12% O2,and the balance helium. The activity of…

Electro-optic properties of a polymer-dispersed liquid-crystal film: Temperature dependence and phase behavior

Karl Amundson1996-03-01Physical review. E, Statistical physics, plasmas, fluids, and related interdisciplinary topics

Electro-optic measurements and optical microscopy were used in an investigation into the microscopic properties that determine the switching characteristics of a polymer-dispersed liquid-crystal (PDLC) film. A simple test is demonstrated that provides a necessary condition for the applicability of a previously publish…

Chemical shifts and optical properties of tin oxide films grown by a reactive ion assisted deposition

Won Kook Choi、Hyung-Jin Jung、Seok-Keun Koh1996-03-01Journal of Vacuum Science & Technology A Vacuum Surfaces and Films

Highly oriented nonstoichiometric tin oxide thin films were grown by a reactive ion assisted deposition onto Si(100) and glass substrates at room temperature as a function of relative ion (O)/atom (Sn metal) arrival ratio, and concurrently the deposited ion energy per atom (eV/atom) were changed from 10 to 100 eV/atom…

Deformation of Interparticle Necks by Diffusion‐Controlled Creep

D. Bouvard、Robert M. McMeeking1996-03-01Journal of the American Ceramic Society

The deformation of a neck between two spherical particles of the same size by coupled grain‐boundary and surface diffusion has been simulated numerically through the finite‐difference method. In the case of pure sintering where there is no applied stress, the results agree quite well with simple analytical models. Whe…
