An ionic surfactant-mediated Langmuir–Blodgett method to construct gold nanoparticle films for surface-enhanced Raman scattering

Prompong Pienpinijtham、Xiao Xia Han、Sanong Ekgasit 等 4 位作者2012-01-01Physical Chemistry Chemical Physics

A gold nanoparticle film for surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) was successfully constructed by an ionic surfactant-mediated Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) method. The gold film was formed by adding ethanol to a gold colloid/hexane mixture in the presence of dodecyltrimethylammonium bromide (DTAB). Consequently, gold na…

Hydrothermal synthesis of mesoporous silica spheres: effect of the cooling process

Qiyu Yu、Junfeng Hui、Pengpeng Wang 等 6 位作者2012-01-01Nanoscale

Hydrothermal methods have been widely used in the fabrication of silica-based micro-/nanomaterials. In this paper, we comprehensively investigated dissolution/regrowth kinetics of solid silica in alkaline media under relatively high temperature hydrothermal conditions (typically 180 °C). A decoupled dissolution and re…

Comparative study on reducing aromatic aldehydes by using ammonia borane and lithium amidoborane as reducing reagents

Weiliang Xu、Hongjun Fan、Guotao Wu 等 4 位作者2012-01-01New Journal of Chemistry

Lithium amidoborane (LiNH2BH3) and ammonia borane (NH3BH3) reduce aromatic aldehydes in tetrahydrofuran (THF) through two different pathways. LiNH2BH3 only transfers hydridic hydrogen on boron to aldehydes through a hydroboration process to achieve lithium aminoborate; ammonia borane, on the other hand, transfers both…

Pore size distribution and capacitance in microporous carbons

Fritz Stoeckli、Teresa A. Centeno2012-01-01Physical Chemistry Chemical Physics

Modelling shows that the pore size distribution of microporous carbons determined by NLDFT only hides relatively small variations of the surface-related capacitance C/S between 0.7 and 1.3 nm. This suggests again that C/S in TEABF(4)-AN is 0.09 ± 0.01 F m(-2) for our typical carbons, including carbide-based samples.
