Fabrication and characterization of diamond moth eye antireflective surfaces on Ge

J.F. DeNatale、P. J. Hood、John F. Flintoff 等 4 位作者1992-02-01Journal of Applied Physics

An antireflective coating on Ge which combines a polycrystalline diamond film with a surface relief (moth eye) structure has been designed and successfully fabricated. This progressive gradation in the effective refractive index between air and the substrate has reduced Fresnel reflection losses to below 1%. This prov…

Site Occupancy in Nontronite Studied by Acid Dissolution and Mössbauer Spectroscopy

Vittorio Luca、Dugald J. MacLachlan1992-02-01Clays and Clay Minerals

Abstract The dissolution of two Ca 2+ -exchanged nontronite samples has been studied in 10% HCl. Early acid-dissolution studies (Osthaus, 1954) have indicated that after two hours of dissolution most of the octahedral Fe 3+ ( VI Fe 3+ ) would be removed leaving mainly tetrahedral Fe 3+ ( IV Fe 3+ ) in the nontronite s…

Occluded Mica in Hydroxy-Interlayered Vermiculite Grains from a Highly-Weathered Soil

Willie G. Harris、A. Morrone、Sylvia E. Coleman1992-02-01Clays and Clay Minerals

Abstract Hydroxy-interlayered vermiculite (HIV) is a ubiquitous phyllosilicate in the <0.05-mm fraction of sandy soils on the U.S. southeastern coastal plain. Extensive areas of soils with abundant HIV (i.e., peninsular Florida) have no detectable mica; yet the coarseness, platy habit, and nonexchangeable K associa…

Microstructures and Magnetic Properties of Fe-(Ta,Nb,Zr)-N Alloy Films

K. Nago、H. Sakakima、K. Ihara1992-02-01IEEE Translation Journal on Magnetics in Japan

The microstructures and magnetic properties of Fe-(Ta, Nb, Zr)-N alloy films near the eutectic composition were studied. These new soft magnetic alloy films were prepared by N2reactive sputtering. The structures and magnetic properties were changed by annealing or by adjusting the ratio of the N2partial pressure to th…

Oxidation Effects on the Mechanical Properties of a SiC‐Fiber‐Reinforced Reaction‐Bonded Si 3 N 4 Matrix Composite

Ramakrishna T. Bhatt1992-02-01Journal of the American Ceramic Society

The room‐temperature mechanical properties of a SiC‐fiberreinforced reaction‐bonded silicon nitride composite were measured after 100 h treatment in nitrogen and oxygen environments to 1400°C. The composite heat‐treated in nitrogen to 1400°C showed no appreciable loss in properties. In contrast, composites heat‐treate…

Abstract In a search for new types of polymer architecture, we have examined systems where one couples rigid‐rod monomers with multifunctional tie‐point monomers. High surface area (400–1000 m 2 /g) polymeric carbinols result from reaction of 4,4′‐dilithiobiphenyl, as well as other multi‐lithiated aromatic compounds w…

The density of liquid sulfur near the polymerization temperature

K. M. Zheng、Sandra C. Greer1992-02-01The Journal of Chemical Physics

We have measured the density of liquid sulfur as a function of temperature near the polymerization temperature. We measure between 424 and 445 K, with a precision in density of 2×10−5 and an accuracy of 5×10−4. We see upward shifts of the density within 3 K of the polymerization temperature of about 8×10−4 with each c…
