Anomalous crystal chemistries of the→111111Cd and→181181Ta probes in rutileTiO2studied using perturbed-angular-correlation spectroscopy

James Adams、Gary L. Catchen1994-07-01Physical review. B, Condensed matter

We have used perturbed-angular-correlation (PAC) spectroscopy to measure nuclear-electric-quadrupole interactions at the Ti site in ceramic samples of rutile ${\mathrm{TiO}}_{2}$. To investigate differences in the probe crystal chemistry, we used two chemically different PAC probes, $^{111}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}^{11…

Wavelength Dependence of Optical Reorientation in Dye-Doped Nematics

Domenico Paparo、P. Maddalena、Giancarlo Abbate 等 5 位作者1994-07-01Molecular crystals and liquid crystals science technology. Section A, Molecular crystals and liquid crystals/Molecular crystals and liquid crystals science and technology. Section A, Molecular crystals and liquid crystals

The wavelength dependence of the optical reorientation of nematic liquid crystals is investigated in the presence of two dyes, using the z-scan technique. A strong correlation is found between the magnitude of the dyeinduced amplification of the optical torque and the dichroism of the system.

Thermal conductivity of solid nitrogen

P. Stachowiak、V. V. Sumarokov、J. Mucha 等 4 位作者1994-07-01Physical review. B, Condensed matter

Thermal conductivity of crystalline natural nitrogen was investigated over the temperature range 1.2--38 K. The temperature dependence of thermal conductivity of \ensuremath{\alpha}-nitrogen has been determined in temperatures below 18 K. The thermal conductivity coefficient reaches the maximum value 250 mW/cm K at 3.…

Structural properties of amorphous hydrogenated carbon. II. An inelastic neutron-scattering study

P.J.R. Honeybone、Robert J. Newport、J K Walters 等 5 位作者1994-07-01Physical review. B, Condensed matter

Inelastic-neutron-scattering experiments have been performed on samples of amorphous hydrogenated carbon, prepared from acetylene and propane, containing about 35 and 32 at. % hydrogen, respectively. In these hard carbons, the hydrogen is predominantly bonded to ${\mathit{sp}}^{3}$ carbon, with approximately equal con…

Quantitative analysis of REELS spectra of ZrO 2 : Determination of the dielectric loss function and inelastic mean free paths

F. Yubero、J. M. Sanz、J.F. Trigo 等 5 位作者1994-07-01Surface and Interface Analysis

Abstract The dielectric loss function of ZrO 2 over 0–80 eV has been determined from a quantitative analysis of reflection electron energy loss spectra (REELS) at different primary energies. From this, the inelastic electron mean free path for 200–2000 eV electrons in ZrO 2 has been calculated. The inelastic mean free…

Naoki Toshima、Hu Yan、Mariko Ishiwatari1994-07-01Bulletin of the Chemical Society of Japan

Abstract The catalytic polymerization of aniline and its derivatives was performed by stirring the solution of the corresponding monomer and copper(II) salts (50/5, mmol/mmol) in acetonitrile and water (1/1, v/v) under oxygen at room temperature for 24 h. Among copper salts, CuBr2 and CuCl2 are more active than the ot…
