Hysteresis losses in Mn-Zn ferrite cores

Yo Sakaki、Takaaki Matsuoka1986-09-01IEEE Transactions on Magnetics

In this paper a cause of difference for the Steinmetz constant between polycrystalline Mn-Zn ferrite cores and other materials is qualitatively discussed by considering both irreversible domain wall motion and wall extinction.

ABSORPTION SPECTRA OF DEOXYRIBOSE, RIBOSEPHOSPHATE, ATP AND DNA BY DIRECT TRANSMISSION MEASUREMENTS IN THE VACUUM‐UV (150—190 nm) AND FAR‐UV (190—260 nm) REGIONS USING SYNCHROTRON RADIATION AS A LIGHT SOURCE

Atsushi Ito、Takashi Ito1986-09-01Photochemistry and Photobiology

Abstract Transmission measurements of 2‐deoxy‐D‐ribose, D‐ribose‐5‐phosphate, ATP and DNA at 5 nm intervals were made with thin films in the wavelength region between 150 nm and 260 nm using synchrotron radiation. ATP and DNA exhibited two peaks in the absorption spectra around 260 nm and 190 nm, and a steep increase…

Hexagonal platy halloysite in an altered tuff bed, Komaki City, Aichi Prefecture, Central Japan

Harufumi Noro1986-09-01Clay Minerals

Abstract XRD analysis and electron microscopy show that hexagonal platy halloysite is the main component of an altered tuff (Ueno tuff bed) in the Pliocene Seto group, Aichi Prefecture, Central Japan. In the natural state it shows a single basal peak at 10·1 Å, which collapses to 7·2 Å, by dehydration through a segreg…

Structure and ion dynamics of silver borate glasses: A 19Ag NMR study

Marco Villa、Gaetano Chiodelli、A. Magistris 等 4 位作者1986-09-01The Journal of Chemical Physics

An analysis of the 109Ag isotropic chemical shift δ in the glasses of the AgI:Ag2O:B2O3 system is presented. In these glasses, δ covers a range of ∼500 ppm but does not depend linearly upon the fraction of I− anions X=[I]/[Ag]. This means that, when AgI is added to the borate network, structures are preferentially for…

Evolution Problems with Hysteresis in the Source Term

Augusto Visintin1986-09-01SIAM Journal on Mathematical Analysis

Jump conditions having a hysteresis effect are introduced to model some inertial mechanisms which yield criteria of control of systems. Examples can be found in biology, chemistry, engineering, and economics. Both orientations of the hysteresis loops are considered, corresponding to “delay” and “anticipation” between…

Theoretical Study of the Dynamic Tensile Test

G. Regazzoni、J. N. Johnson、P.S. Follansbee1986-09-01Journal of Applied Mechanics

A numerical investigation of the tensile test using a finite-difference, one-dimensional elasto-viscoplastic code is presented. The influence of strain rate, strain rate sensitivity, and inertia on the development of the axial particle velocity, stress, strain, and strain rate profiles in pure copper is studied. The i…

Composition and ultrastructure of the byssus of Mytilus edulis

Christine V. Benedict、J. Herbert Waite1986-09-01Journal of Morphology

Three regions of the byssus of the marine mussel Mytilus edulis L. are distinct in structural organization at the macroscopic and microscopic level and in amino acid composition. The threads that emanate from the stem at the base of the foot are divided into two regions. The proximal, elastic region has a crimped, den…

Image processing in high-resolution electron microscopy using the direct method. II. Image deconvolution

Fu-son Han、FAN HAI-FU、Fanghua Li1986-09-01Acta Crystallographica Section A Foundations of Crystallography

A new method is proposed to estimate the defocus (Δf) from a single electron micrograph (EM). The method has been tested by simulations using theoretical EM's calculated under different defocus conditions. The preliminary method is successful except when the EM is taken near the optimum defocus. This can be improved b…

Defect Structure and Dielectric Properties of Nd 2 O 3 ‐Modified BaTiO 3

Aziz Shaikh、R. W. Vest1986-09-01Journal of the American Ceramic Society

The defect structure and dielectric properties of BaTiO 3 with 1 to 10 mol% Nd 2 O 3 additions were studied. The results indicated that neodymium occupies the barium site and charge compensation takes place by creation of titanium vacancies. The dependence of inverse electric susceptibility, spontaneous polarization,…

Chain extenders for polyesters. III. Addition-type nitrogen-containing chain extenders reactive with hydroxyl end groups of polyesters

Hiroo Inata、Shunichi Matsumura1986-09-01Journal of Applied Polymer Science

Effective chain extenders for linear polyesters such as poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) and poly(butylene terephthalate) (PBT) were sought among some nitrogen-containing bisheterocycles, which were reactive with hydroxyl terminals of the polyesters to form addition linkages. Tested were such bis cyclic-imino-esters…
