Elastic Moduli, Hardness and Thermal Expansion of Some Metaphosphate Glasses

Masahiro ASHIZUKA、Toshihiko Sakai、Akira Iwata1983-01-01Journal of the Ceramic Association Japan

A NEW PHASE MATCHABLE NONLINEAR OPTIC CRYSTAL L-ABGININE PHOSPHATE MONOHYDRATE

M Iang1983-01-01Acta Chimica Sinica

In search of new organic nonlinear optic crystals, aromatic compounds with donor and acceptor substituents are extensively studied. Some new crystals with large nonlinear coefficient have been reported. This kind of crystals is usually not useful in ultraviolet region, because the distance between energy levels in con…

Photochromic Behavior of Schiff Base–Metal Complexes. I. Photoinduced Hydrolysis of Pyridoxal 5′-Phosphate- and Salicylaldehyde-α-amino Acid–Zinc(II) Complexes

Yoshiaki Kurauchi、Kazuya Ohga、Akihiko Yokoyama 等 4 位作者1983-01-01Bulletin of the Chemical Society of Japan

Abstract Pyridoxal 5′-phosphate-α-amino acid–Zn(II) complexes and their salicylaldehyde analogues showed photochromic behavior in borate buffer at pH 9.5. A detailed comparison of UV spectral changes during the thermal back reaction with those for the complex formation indicates that the photoexcitation of the complex…

The Development of a Radiation Hardened Polymer Dielectric by Chemical Doping

S. R. Kurtz、C. Arnold、R. C. Hughes1983-01-01IEEE Transactions on Nuclear Science

X-ray induced photoconductivity measurements reveal that the radiation-induced conductivity of polyethylene terepthalate films is greatly reduced by doping this polymer with 2,4,6-trinitrofluorenone which acts as a deep trap for the photocarriers. The radiation-induced conductivity of this doped dielectric is reduced…

Minoru Saito、Kazuho OTSUKA、Hirotaka Furuya1983-01-01Journal of Nuclear Science and Technology

The penetration behavior of Cs was studied in the oxide layer growing on SUS-316 stainless steel for a cladding material of fast breeder reactors under the condition of an oxygen potential controlled by a Ni/NiO oxygen buffer in the temperature range of 600–750°C, using radioactive 134Cs as a tracer. Two different kin…

Morphological Variations inLemna MinorL. and Possible Relationships with Abscisic Acid

Aldo Severi、R. Baroni Fornasiero1983-01-01Caryologia

SUMMARYMorphological, anatomical and ultrastructural differences have been observed in fronds of two months old cultures of Lemna minor L. These fronds are reduced in area and in thickness and never form colonies. They have been compared with normal and ABA treated fronds in order to determine if the above mentioned d…

Yves Tardy、Christophe Monnin1983-01-01Bulletin de Minéralogie

Variation of salt or silica solubility as a function of water activity, capillarity pressure or pore size, is discussed as a probable origine of matter migration, concentration, and finally concretioning.

Raman spectroscopic study of clinopyroxenes in the join CaScAlSiO6-CaTiAl2O6.

Haruo Ohashi、Masami Sekita1983-01-01The Journal of the Japanese Association of Mineralogists Petrologists and Economic Geologists

Four clinopyroxenes in the join CaScAlSiO6 -CaTiAl2O6 are synthesized at 1 atm. Deconvolution of Raman spectra of the clinopyroxenes indicates that the chains in the CaScAlSiO6 pyroxene are composed of Si-O-Si, Si-O-Al, and Al-O-Al bonds and the aluminum avoidance rule is violated. The weakness of the Si-O-Si stretchi…

Effect of reduction and oxidation on the activity of ruthenium/titania catalysts for n-butane hydrogenolysis

Geoffrey C. Bond、Yide Xu1983-01-01Journal of the Chemical Society Chemical Communications

The activity of Ru/TiO2 catalysts for n-butane hydrogenolysis is greatly increased by oxidation at 433 K after reduction at 758 or 893 K; strong metal–support interaction is then easily effected by a second reduction at these temperatures.

Crystallization of potassium sulfate from pure aqueous solution and in presence of surfactants

Frank Kuschel、An. König、Siehe Dazu Herold1983-01-01Crystal Research and Technology

Abstract The use of surfactants offers an interesting possibility to control the crystallization from solutions. There are already some applications in technical scale. Yet, little knowledge exists on the mechanism of the effect and his dependence on surfactant concentration. Therefore, the displacement rates of selec…

Concrete Structures: Penetration Depth Estimation

Achintya Haldar、Mehdi Hatami、Frank Miller1983-01-01Journal of Structural Engineering

The predictability of the National Defense Research Council (NDRC) equations to estimate penetration depth in concrete structures has been reevaluated using the presently available test results on missiles similar to those expected in a nuclear power plant. This study confirms the industry notion that the NDRC equatio…

Effects of Tmeltand tmelton the long period of polyethylene

E. S. Hsiue、Richard E. Robertson、G. S.Y. Eh1983-01-01Journal of Macromolecular Science Part B

The equilibrium state of polyethylene melt was studied by examining the effects of Tmelt and tmelt on the long period of B melt melt quenched polyethylene. The long period was found to be proportional to M−½ and to depend on Tmelt with a temperature coefficient α = −0.5 × 10−3. When the melt temperature was changed fr…

C. Wrubl、E. D. Mor1983-01-01British Corrosion Journal

The efficiency of zinc gluconate (ZnGl) as an inhibitor of the corrosion of copper and zinc in natural sea water was studied by means of weight loss tests, potentiostatic polarisation and X-ray diffractometry. It was shown that, in naturally aerated conditions, up to 60% inhibition of copper corrosion is achieved with…

New general estimation of river pollution using new diatom community index (NDCI) as biological indicators based on specific composition of epilithic diatoms communities. - Applied to Asano-gawa and Sai-gawa Rivers in Ishikawa prefecture.

Michiaki Sumita、Toshiharu WATANABE1983-01-01Japanese Journal of Limnology (Rikusuigaku Zasshi)

WATANABE (1982) developed an equation to obtain the river pollution index (RPIB) by which he tried to assess the general state of river pollution. This equation is based upon the water quality chart obtained from biological assessment. The water quality chart, however, only indicates the distribution of area with diff…
