J. C. Greenwood、M. Prutton、R. H. Roberts 等 4 位作者1993-10-01Surface and Interface Analysis

Abstract Seah and Smith have reported a method of measuring the peak‐to‐background ratio below the silver LMM Auger peak as a function of the pass energy of a hemispherical electron spectrometer. They used this measurement to reveal the extent of a contribution to the observed spectrum due to secondary electrons gener…

Novel Synthesis of Perfluoroalkylated Phenylboronic Acid with Low pKa Using Bis(heptafluorobutyryl)peroxide as Perfluoroalkylation Reagent

Daijiro Shiino、Yong‐Joo Kim、Yoshishige Murata 等 9 位作者1993-10-01Chemistry Letters

Abstract 3-Acetamido-6-heptafluoropropylphenylboronic acid was synthesized by the perfluoroalkylation of 3-acetamidophenylboronic acid (pKa = 8.3) with bis(heptafluorobutyryl)peroxide. The perfluoroalkylated phenylboronic acid thus prepared was determined to have a low pKa as 6.6 by potentiometric titration. Lowered p…

Characteristics of Shaped Charges with Hemispherical Liners

U. Hornemann、A. Holzwarth1993-10-01Propellants Explosives Pyrotechnics

Abstract During the last 10 years shaped charges with spherical liners have arosed great interest in research and development because their application in special munition results in an increase of performance. The present report presents measured characteristics of shaped charges with hemispherical liners. A short ex…

Thermodynamic Calculation of the Mg - Cu Phase Diagram

Yue Zuo、Y. A. Chang1993-10-01International Journal of Materials Research (formerly Zeitschrift fuer Metallkunde)

The thermodynamic and phase equilibrium data of the binary Mg-Cu system were assessed thermodynamically to yield two descriptions. In the first description, the liquid and the (Cu) phase were treated as substitutional solutions and the two intermetallic phases, Mg[sub 2]Cu and MgCu[sub 2], as stoichiometric phases. In…

Heteroepitaxial Growth of Layered GaSe Films on GaAs(001) Surfaces

Hideki Abe、Keiji Ueno、Koichiro Saiki 等 4 位作者1993-10-01Japanese Journal of Applied Physics

Epitaxial films of layered GaSe with (0001) surfaces have been grown on GaAs(001) substrates in spite of the large difference in their crystal symmetry. In situ observation of reflection high-energy electron diffraction has revealed that a number of facets grow on the surface of GaAs(001) under Se irradiation. The exi…

Reversible Thermodynamic Cycle for AMTEC Power Conversion

Cronin B. Vining、Roger Williams、M. L. Underwood 等 5 位作者1993-10-01Journal of The Electrochemical Society

The thermodynamic cycle appropriate to an alkali metal thermal‐to‐electric converter (AMTEC) cell is discussed for both liquid‐ and vapor‐fed modes of operation, under the assumption that all processes can be performed reversibly. In the liquid‐fed mode, the reversible efficiency is greater than 89.6% of Carnot effici…

Constitution and thermodynamics of Fe-Nd alloys

K. Hennemann、Hans Léo Lukas、H.‐J. Schaller1993-10-01OSTI OAI (U.S. Department of Energy Office of Scientific and Technical Information)

The thermodynamic properties of Fe-Nd alloys have been determined between 973 and 1073 K by emf measurements on galvanic cells using CaF[sub 2] as solid electrolyte. The activity of Nd in iron-rich solid solution alloys shows positive deviations from ideality. The Gibbs energies of the intermetallic compounds Fe[sub 1…

The Catalytic Reduction of Aldehydes and Ketones with 2-Propanol over Silica-Supported Zirconium Catalyst

Kazushige Inada、Makoto Shibagaki、Yukio Nakanishi 等 4 位作者1993-10-01Chemistry Letters

Abstract Reduction of aldehydes and ketones with 2-propanol proceeded efficiently over silica-supported zirconium catalyst, and the corresponding alcohols were obtained in high yields. In the reduction of aldehyde, the acetalization did not occur and the side reaction, the aldol condensation, was inhibited.
