Aggregation-enhanced emission and efficient electroluminescence of tetraphenylethene-cored luminogens

Zhengfeng Chang、Yibin Jiang、Bairong He 等 10 位作者2012-12-04Chemical Communications

A new design of luminescent materials by decorating a tetraphenylethene core with four aromatic chromophores is proposed. The generated luminogens exhibit aggregation-enhanced emission and excellent solid-state fluorescence efficiency (93-99%). Efficient non-doped OLEDs based on them afford remarkable efficiencies up…

Facile Synthesis of Gold Wavy Nanowires and Investigation of Their Growth Mechanism

Cun Zhu、Hsin-Chieh Peng、Jie Zeng 等 6 位作者2012-12-04Journal of the American Chemical Society

We describe a synthesis of Au wavy nanowires in an aqueous solution in the presence of cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB). The resultant Au nanowires automatically separated from the solution and floated at the air/water interface. We investigated the formation mechanism by characterizing the samples obtained at di…

Isocyanate toughened pCBT: Reactive blending and tensile properties

Tobias Abt、Antxon Martı́nez de Ilarduya、Jordi J. Bou 等 4 位作者2012-12-04eXPRESS Polymer Letters

Cyclic butylene terephthalate oligomers (CBT) were reacted in a ring-opening polymerization with three types of isocyanates: a bifunctional aromatic type, a bifunctional aliphatic type and a polymeric aromatic isocyanate. All reactions took place in a batch mixer. The use of 0.5 to 1 wt% isocyanate led to a dramatic i…

Development and characterisation of injection moulded, all-polypropylene composites

Ákos Kmetty、Tamás Tábi、József Kovács 等 4 位作者2012-12-04eXPRESS Polymer Letters

In this work, all-polypropylene composites (all-PP composites) were manufactured by injection moulding. Prior to injection moulding, pre-impregnated pellets were prepared by a three-step process (filament winding, compression moulding and pelletizing). A highly oriented polypropylene multifilament was used as the rein…

Tc Maximum in Solid Solution of Pyrite IrSe2-RhSe2 Induced by Destabilization of Anion Dimers

Jiangang Guo、Yanpeng Qi、Satoru Matsuishi 等 4 位作者2012-12-04arXiv

We have established a well-defined dome shape Tc curve in Ir0.94-xRhxSe2 superconductors. The maximum Tconset of 9.6K was obtained at x=0.36, at which the Se-Se separation in the dimer anion is the longest. Simultaneously, the destabilization of Se-Se dimers accompanied by partial elec-tron-transfer from the Ir/Rh to…

Chopped basalt fibres: A new perspective in reinforcing poly(lactic acid) to produce injection moulded engineering composites from renewable and natural resources

Tamás Tábi、Peter A. Tamás、József Kovács2012-12-04eXPRESS Polymer Letters

This paper focuses on the reinforcing of Poly(lactic acid) with chopped basalt fibres by using silane treated and untreated basalt fibres. Composite materials with 5-10-15-20-30-40 wt% basalt fibre contents were prepared from silane sized basalt fibres using extrusion, and injection moulding, while composites with 5-1…

Hanle effect missing in a prototypical organic spintronic device

Alberto Riminucci、Mirko Prezioso、Chiara Pernechele 等 9 位作者2012-12-04arXiv

We investigate spin precession (Hanle effect) in the prototypical organic spintronic giant magnetoresistance (GMR) device La0.7Sr0.3MnO3(LSMO)/tris(8-hydroxyquinoline)(Alq3)/AlOx/Co. The Hanle effect is not observed in measurements taken by sweeping a magnetic field at different angles from the plane of the device. As…

We measured phonon dispersion in single-crystal EuTiO${}_{3}$ using inelastic x-ray scattering. A structural transition to an antiferrodistortive phase was found at a critical temperature ${T}_{0}=287\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}1$ K using powder and single-crystal x-ray diffraction. Telechelic Star Polymers as Self-Assembling Units from the Molecular to the Macroscopic Scale

Barbara Capone、Ivan Coluzza、Federica Lo Verso 等 5 位作者2012-12-04Physical Review Letters

By means of multiscale molecular simulations, we show that telechelic-star polymers are a simple, robust, and tunable system, which hierarchically self-assembles into soft-patchy particles and mechanically stabilizes selected, open crystalline structures. The self-aggregating patchy behavior can be fully controlled by…

Crystallographic and spin polarized transport properties of (100) textured and (100) epitaxial Fe/MgO/Fe magnetic tunnel junctions are compared. Reciprocity in reflection and transmission: what is a "phonon diode"?

A. A. Maznev、A. G. Every、O. B. Wright2012-12-04arXiv

The newly popular topic of "phonon diodes" is discussed in the context of a broader issue of reciprocity in reflection/transmission (R-T) of waves. We first review a theorem well known in electromagnetism and optics but underappreciated in acoustics and phonon physics, stating that the matrix of R-T coefficients for p…

Magnetization switching by ultrashort acoustic pulses

O. Kovalenko、T. Pezeril、V. V. Temnov2012-12-04arXiv

It is shown theoretically that a single a few picoseconds long acoustic pulse can reverse magnetization in a magneto-strictive material Terfenol-D. Following giant magneto-elastic changes of free energy density the magnetization vector is kicked out of a local in-plane energy mininum and decays into another minimum. F…
