Transient cluster formation in sheared non-Brownian suspensions

Kjetil Thøgersen、Marcin Dąbrowski、Anders Malthe‐Sørenssen2016-02-29Physical review. E

We perform numerical simulations of non-Brownian suspensions in the laminar flow regime to study the scaling behavior of particle clusters and collisions under shear. As the particle fraction approaches the maximum packing fraction, large transient clusters appear in the system. We use methods from percolation theory…

Development of Morphogen Gradients with Spatially Varying Degradation Rates

Hamid Teimouri、Behnaz Bozorgui、Anatoly B. Kolomeisky2016-02-29The Journal of Physical Chemistry B

Successful biological development via spatial and temporal regulations of cell differentiation relies on the action of multiple signaling molecules that are known as morphogens. It is now well established that biological signaling molecules create nonuniform concentration profiles, called morphogen gradients, that act…

Effect of some biologically active pyridopyrimidine derivatives on photostability and bioactivity of rigid poly(vinyl chloride)

Samira T. Rabie、Reham A. Abdel Monem2016-02-29Journal of Vinyl and Additive Technology

Some pyridopyrimidine derivatives with high biological activity have been investigated as photostabilizers for rigid Poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC). Their stabilizing efficiencies were evaluated by determining the percentage of weight loss, the amount of formed gel, as well as the intrinsic viscosities, of the photodegrad…

Magnetic properties of low temperature phase MnBi of island structure

Takahiro Suwa、Yoshitomo Tanaka、G. J. Mankey 等 5 位作者2016-02-29AIP Advances

The magnetic and structural properties of island-structured LTP MnBi fabricated onto MgO single crystal substrates are discussed. The size and height of the “Volmer-Weber” type islands vary from place to place but are averagely a few microns and sub-microns, respectively. From the wetting angle (40 ∼ 60°) of those isl…

The Effects of Amide Groups on the Thermal and Optical Properties of Poly(amide‐imide)s with Low Residual Stress for Microelectronic Devices

Kwangin Kim、Taewon Yoo、Hyemin Ha 等 6 位作者2016-02-29Macromolecular Chemistry and Physics

In this study, poly(amide‐imide)s are synthesized for electronic materials by adding amide groups into polyimide. As it is expected, poly(amide‐imide) shows an amorphous structure with a lower glass transition temperature and residual stress than the neat polyimide due to the high steric hindrance of the amide group.…

P-doping and efficient carrier injection induced by graphene oxide for high performing WSe2 rectification devices

Muhammad Atif Khan、Servin Rathi、Inyeal Lee 等 7 位作者2016-02-29Applied Physics Letters

In this work, we fabricated multi-layer WSe2 rectifying diodes using graphene oxide (GO) as p-doping material on one side of the contacting electrodes. This GO layer can reduce the contact resistance by forming a tunneling barrier for efficient hole injection, while it increases the contact resistance for the injectio…
