High surface area mesoporous Co3O4 from a direct soft template route

Naween Dahal、Ilich A. Ibarra、Simon M. Humphrey2012-01-01Journal of Materials Chemistry

Mesoporous Co3O4 with hexagonally ordered cylindrical channels has been synthesized by a single-step method using Pluronic soft micellar templates. The resulting material has been directly compared to isomorphous Co3O4 that was obtained via an established but laborious five-step nanocasting method. The soft template r…

Preparation and thermal properties of UV-curable polyacrylate–gold nanocomposite foams

Wei‐I Hung、Yen‐Hao Lin、Pei‐Shan Wu 等 7 位作者2012-01-01Journal of Materials Chemistry

In this study, we prepare UV-curable polyacrylate–gold nanocomposites (PGNs) for the first time and analyze their thermal properties. The microemulsion architectures of these PGNs contain gold nanoparticles (GNPs) whose surface is modified with carboxyl groups; furthermore, 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate (HEMA) and methy…

Interaction energy and polymer density profile in nanocomposites: a coarse grain simulation based on interaction stress

Meysam Rahmat、Hossein Ghiasi、Pascal Hubert2012-01-01Polymer Chemistry

A coarse grain approach was selected to simulate nanocomposites made of single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) and poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA). Unlike common coarse grain simulations, which employ Lennard-Jones models as the force field between the beads, the current approach used experiment-based data, and hence…

Helical phase from blending of chiral block copolymer and homopolymer

Hsiao‐Fang Wang、Hsin-Wei Wang、Rong‐Ming Ho2012-01-01Chemical Communications

The phase behavior of the binary blends of polystyrene-b-poly(L-lactide) chiral block copolymer (BCP*) and polystyrene homopolymer (HS) is found to be strongly dependent on the molecular weight (M(n)) of the HS. A helical phase is formed in the blends with low-M(n) HS due to an enhancement of helical steric hindrance.
