Abstract The luminescence lifetimes in K2Pt(CN)4·3H2O, BaPt(CN)4·4H2O and MgPt(CN)4·7H2O were measured at 1 atom. and higher hydrostatic pressures up to 7.2 kbar at room temperature. Two longer components lengthen anomalously by a factor of ∼ 30 with a decrease in the Pt–Pt distance from 3.50 to 3.16 Å.
