MAGNETIC PROPERTIES OF Co-HEUSLER AND RELATED MIXED ALLOYS

H. Ido、S. Yasuda1988-12-01Le Journal de Physique Colloques

Magnetic and crystallographic measurements were made for Co2-xFexMnM (M Si, Ge, Sn and Ga) and Co2-xMnxSi. In Co2MnM, the magnetic moment (µP) in the paramagnetic temperature region is generally much smaller than the ferromagnetic moment (µF) at T = 0 K, which implies that the Co-moment disappears above TC. The other…

Synthesis of Novel Ni-Hectorite Inorganic Complexes

Kazuo Torii、Takashi Iwasaki1988-12-01Chemistry Letters

Abstract Novel Ni-hectorite inorganic complexes were synthesized hydrothermally from homogeneous Ni–Si hydrous oxide gel at 200 °C for 2 h. Dispersed slurries of these complexes showed rheological properties similar to those of natural smectites and, on heating, formed porous materials characterized by large specific…

Vibrational study of 4‐nitropyridine N‐oxide. III—The charge‐transfer phenomenon as observed in solution

Marc Joyeux、G. Ménard、Nguyen Quy Dao1988-12-01Journal of Raman Spectroscopy

Abstract The IR and Raman spectra of various saturated solutions of 4‐nitropyridine N ‐oxide (NPO) and NPO‐ d 4 were recorded in the range 4000–350 cm −1 . They were assigned according to previous results for the crystal. A strong Fermi resonance is observed in the ν as (NO 2 ) region for solutions of NPO in CCI 4 , C…

AN ANALYSIS OF THE MÖSSBAUER SPECTRA OF Nd2Fe14B IN TERMS OF A NEW MODEL

Fernande Grandjean、Gary J. Long、Dwayne E. Tharp 等 5 位作者1988-12-01Le Journal de Physique Colloques

In this paper, we compare various analyses of the magnetic Mössbauer spectra of Nd2Fe14B and propose a new model based on the positions of the rare-earth neighbors of each iron site. This model gives excellent fits from 295 K down to the spin-reorientation temperature and can be extended to Y2Fe14B.

A Study of the Magnetic Domains of Isolated Fine Particles of Ba Ferrite

O. Kitakami、Kimiyoshi Gotō、Tomoaki Sakurai1988-12-01Japanese Journal of Applied Physics

Isolated Ba ferrite particles are prepared by the conventional powder metallurgical method, and the magnetic domains of about 200 particles 0.5 to 5 µm in size are investigated by the colloid-SEM method (the Bitter method using a scanning electron microscope). The relationship between the three-dimensional sizes of Ba…

Tables of Experimental Reference Intensity Ratios

Briant L. Davis、Deane K. Smith1988-12-01Powder Diffraction

Abstract This paper presents the first Table of RIR values for quantitative analysis as a model for regular updates which will appear in future issues. Diffractionists interested in the reference intensity method of quantitative analysis are urged to read the criteria for preparing data to continue this Table and then…

Electrochemical Formation of Vanadium Pentoxide Bronzes M x V 2 O 5 in Molten Dimethylsulfone

Jean‐Pierre Pereira‐Ramos、R. Messina、Jacques Périchon1988-12-01Journal of The Electrochemical Society

Electrochemical reduction of in various electrolytes at 150°C has been found to result in the formation of vanadium pentoxide bronzes of formula according to the reaction scheme: with for , respectively. X‐ray diffraction experiments show that bronzes exhibit, at least in the compositional range , an orthorhombic stru…

THE ROLE OF “MAGNETIZATION SWIRLS” IN SOFT MAGNETIC MATERIALS

A. Hubert1988-12-01Le Journal de Physique Colloques

We call magnetization swirls small vortex-like micromagnetic structures at the surface of soft magnetic (low-anisotropy) materials which are magnetized perpendicular to the surface in their core region. In this paper the occurrence of swirls is discussed and their structure is explored by a Ritz method calculation. Th…

Absolute Intensities - Outline of a Recommended Practice

P.M. de Woolf、Jan Visser1988-12-01Powder Diffraction

The X-Ray Powder Data File (XRPDF) enables one to identify the compounds in a sample. More often than not, however, a semi-quantitative analysis is wanted. Visual inspection of the pattern may give a vague impression of the composition, but the errors of such a result are usually not within reasonable limits. Clearly…

Time Evolution of the Potential Distribution in Earth Alkaline Titanates under de Voltage Stress

Alexander F. Raith、P. Reijnen、Rainer Waser1988-12-01Berichte der Bunsengesellschaft für physikalische Chemie

Abstract Earth alkaline titanates which are commonly used as dielectrics in ceramic capacitors may exhibit a long‐term degradation of the insulation resistance under simultaneous dc field and temperature stress. In order to study the nature of this process, it is necessary to detect the time evolution of the potential…

Hydrogen burst associated with nitrogenase-catalyzed reactions.

Jiaqi Liang、R. H. Burris1988-12-01Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences

We have used a membrane-leak mass spectrometer to follow the time courses of H2 evolution and substrate reduction by nitrogenase [reduced ferredoxin:dinitrogen oxidoreductase (ATP-hydrolyzing), EC 1.18.6.1]. In the absence of added substrates, dinitrogenase passes all of its electrons to protons to form H2, but when a…
