Polyaniline Inhibition of Corrosion-Driven Organic Coating Cathodic Delamination on Iron

R. J. Holness、G. Williams、David Worsley 等 4 位作者2005-01-01Journal of The Electrochemical Society

The polyaniline emeraldine salt of paratoluenesulfonic acid (PAni-pTS) is dispersed in polyvinylbutyral coatings adherent to an iron surface. Such dispersions are shown to effectively inhibit corrosion-driven coating delamination (cathodic disbondment) when 5% w/v (0.86 M) aqueous chloride electrolyte contacts a penet…

Fabrication and characterization of magnetic carbon nanotube composites

Zhenyu Sun、Zhimin Liu、Yong Wang 等 6 位作者2005-01-01Journal of Materials Chemistry

Magnetic carbon nanotube (CNT) composites have been successfully fabricated by employing a one-step approach, in which ferrocene decomposed at high temperatures of 350 °C, 425 °C, 500 °C, and transformed into iron oxides to deposit on CNTs. The resulting products were characterized by X-ray diffraction, X-ray photoele…

Towards the rational design of MRI contrast agents: a practical approach to the synthesis of gadolinium complexes that exhibit optimal water exchange

Mark Woods、Mauro Botta、Stefano Avedano 等 5 位作者2005-01-01Dalton Transactions

The gadolinium(iii) complex of S-SSSS-NO(2)BnDOTMA exhibits water exchange kinetics that are optimal for use in high relaxivity or targeted contrast agents. However, the synthesis of this ligand is hampered by the steric encumbrance imparted upon the cyclen ring by the nitrobenzyl substituent. A relatively simple modi…

Koray Aydın、İrfan Bulu、Ekmel Özbay2005-01-01Optics Express

We present here the experimental results from research conducted on negative refraction and focusing by a two-dimensional (2D) left-handed metamaterial (LHM) slab. By measuring the refracted electromagnetic (EM) waves from a LHM slab, we find an effective refractive index of -1.86. A 2D scanning transmission measureme…

V. Raghuveer、Arumugam Manthiram2005-01-01Journal of The Electrochemical Society

Mesoporous carbons with high surface area, large pore diameter, and enhanced mesoporosity have been synthesized by a soft colloidal template route with various aniline/cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTABr) ratios and investigated as an electrocatalytic support for methanol oxidation by cyclic voltammetry. The mesopor…
