Abstract Poly (pyrrol‐ co ‐ o ‐aminobenzoic acid) has been synthesized electrochemically from an aqueous acid medium. The initial rate of electrocopolymerization reaction on platinum electrode is small and the rate law is: Rate = K 2 [D] 1.02 [HCl] 1.44 [M] 2.00 . The apparent activation energy ( E a ) is found to be…

Andreas Gouloumis、Gul Rahman、Julia Abel 等 8 位作者2008-04-23Australian Journal of Chemistry

A zinc(ii)-phthalocyanine-flavin dyad has been synthesized by Heck-type cross-coupling between a flavin that bears a p-iodophenyl group and a phthalocyanine functionalized with a vinyl moiety. Electrochemical experiments reveal that no significant interaction occurs at the ground state between the two electroactive su…

Three-photon-excited upconversion luminescence of niobium ions doped silicate glass by a femtosecond laser irradiation

Huidan Zeng、Juan Song、Danping Chen 等 8 位作者2008-04-23Optics Express

We report on the bluish green upconversion luminescence of niobium ions doped silicate glass by a femtosecond laser irradiation. The dependence of the fluorescence intensity on the pump power density of laser indicates that the conversion of infrared irradiation to visible emission is dominated by three-photon excitat…

Effect of Dispersion Condition of Calcium Carbonate on the Crystallization and Melting Behavior of Polypropylene/CaCO3Nanocomposites

Ran Tao、Zheng Ying Liu、Wei Yang 等 4 位作者2008-04-23Polymer-Plastics Technology and Engineering

Polypropylene/calcium carbonate (PP/CaCO3) nanocomposites were prepared by melt compounding (C-1) and novel compounding process (C-2), respectively. Scanning electronic microscope (SEM) results illustrated that CaCO3 nanoparticles were well dispersed at nanoscale in C-2, whereas the nanoparticles were mostly aggregate…

Basic Studies for Modeling Complex Weft Knitted Fabric Structures Part III: A Geometrical Model for 1 × 1 Purl Fabrics

Arif Kurbak、Ali Serkan Soydan2008-04-23Textile Research Journal

In this work, a geometrical model for 1 × 1 purl fabric is created by using Kurbak's (1998) model of plain knitted fabric. Drawings of the structure were created by using the graphics program 3DS-MAX. The loop shape obtained was a similar shape to what has been obtained experimentally in real fabrics.

Why Does Cyanide Pretend to be a Weak Field Ligand in [Cr(CN)5]3−?

Richard L. Lord、Mu‐Hyun Baik2008-04-23Inorganic Chemistry

Chemical reasoning based on ligand-field theory suggests that homoleptic cyano complexes should exhibit low-spin configurations, particularly when the coordination sphere is nearly saturated. Recently, the well-known chromium hexacyano complex anion [Cr(CN)6](4-) was shown to lose cyanide to afford [Cr(CN)5](3-) in th…
