国際会議CFD4NRS-6が2016年9月13〜15日に米国のマサチューセッツ工科大学(MIT)で開催された。原子力分野の熱流動シミュレーションのV&V(Verification and Validation)に関する最新の研究が報告された。この会議は第6回目であり,毎回あらかじめベンチマーク問題が示され,その結果が会議で報告される。今回のベンチマーク問題は,密度がわずかに異なる2種類の流体の混合問題であり,13の研究機関の計算結果が示された。計算結果には不確かさを同時に示すことが要求されていて,V&Vの考え方が広く共有されていることが感じられた。
