The reversible transfer of Au nanoparticles between water and chloroform phases by pH change was achieved by using a long-chain amine derivative. Further, we demonstrated that the phase transfer method was very effective for the fractionation of Au nanoparticles according to their crystal facet distinction.

The performance limits of a multilayer graphene nanoribbon (GNR) field-effect transistor (FET) are assessed and compared with those of a monolayer GNRFET and a carbon nanotube (CNT) FET. The results show that with a thin high dielectric constant (high-κ) gate insulator and reduced interlayer coupling, a multilayer GNR…

A controlled interfacial synthesis using a permeable membrane has been used to obtain ε-MnO2 of a globular morphology, with a mechanism of formation inferred from SEM results. Specific surface areas of 50–160 m2 g−1 have been obtained through simple variation of the permeable membrane used in synthesis. This has been…

Un-doped ZnO and Sn-doped ZnO (SZO) thin films were synthesized using the sol-gel method. The surface morphology of the SZO films showed a large amount of crystallization. Doping with tin dopants not only reduced the surface roughness of the film, but also repaired defects in the pore structure. Notably, the SZO film…
