A sharp luminescence peak from Sm doped ZnS at 650 nm which can be assigned as 4G5/2–6H9/2 transition of Sm3+ ion was observed; however, no luminescence peak related to Eu3+, which can have luminescence in the similar spectral region, was observed from Eu doped ZnS. A defect level situated at about 0.36 eV above the v…

In order to investigate the effect of deuteration on the ferroelectric properties of glycine phosphite, single crystals with various deuteration ratio x (0 ∼ 0.78) have been prepared. The crystal form is not affected by the deuteration. Internal bias fields influenced hysteresis loops in all samples cut from crystals.…

Precursor effects of the Rhombohedral-to-Cubic Phase Transition in Indium Selenide

F. J. Manjón、Daniel Errandonea、A. Segura 等 5 位作者2002-01-01High Pressure Research

We report on the observation of precursor effects of the rhombohedral-to-cubic phase transition in Indium Selenide (InSe) with several experimental techniques. The pressure at which these precursor defects are first observed depends on the sensitivity of the experimental technique. In transport measurements, which are…

Activation Barriers to meso-Aryl Group Rotation in Titanyl Tetraaryltetrapyrroles. An Investigation of the Out-of-Plane Flexibility of Hydroporphyrins

Alan M. Stolzenberg、G. Scott Haymond2002-01-01Inorganic Chemistry

The free-base and titanyl (Ti(IV)O) complexes of meso-tetratolyl- and meso-tetra(3,5-xylyl)hydroporphyrins were synthesized and characterized. Metalation of the hydroporphyrins with titanium was achieved by reaction of the lithium salts of the hydroporphyrin with TiCl(4). Other methods used to metalate porphyrins with…

Mechanical properties of poly(vinyl chloride)/silane-treated glass beads composite: effects of organofunctional group and alkoxy group numbers of silane coupling agent

Kazuya Nagata、Hideyuki Nigo、Yoshinobu Nakamura 等 10 位作者2002-01-01Composite Interfaces

The surface treatment of glass beads, chosen as model filler, is carried out using four kinds of silane coupling agents with multilayer coverage. For this purpose, the silanes having aminopropyl or methacryloxypropyl group as an organofunctional group with two or three alkoxy group numbers are used. The amount of sila…

Recycled polyurethane elastomers: a universal adhesive

Jenő Borda、Anikó Rácz、Miklós Zsuga2002-01-01Journal of Adhesion Science and Technology

The practical application of the glycolysis mixture of polyurethane wastes is reported. It was found that in the presence of 4,4′-diphenylmethane diisocyanate (MDI) both the separated upper phase of the glycolysis mixture and the complete two-phase reaction mixture could be used as components of the urethane adhesive…

Mass Spectrometric Study of Oxidation of SiC in Low-Pressure Oxygen

Yuzuru Ogura、Tatsuo Morimoto2002-01-01Journal of The Electrochemical Society

Passive-to-active oxidation transitions in chemical vapor deposited (CVD) SiC under low total pressures (0.8-440 Pa) in the temperature range 1250-1700°C have been investigated. A mass spectrometer sampling system equipped with a xenon image furnace was used to detect the transition points. As the temperature increase…

Nominally pure BaF 2 single crystals were investigated at 77 v K with optical absorption and electron paramagnetic resonance to understand the mechanism of radiation damage. We find that X-irradiation at 77 v K of undoped BaF 2 produces V k - and F -centres having absorption bands at 3.4 and 2.3 v eV respectively.

Emmanuel Rocca、Lionel Aranda、Michel Molière 等 4 位作者2002-01-01Journal of Materials Chemistry

The combustion of vanadium- and sodium-contaminated fuels in gas turbines provokes an accumulation of ash on metallic surfaces of the hot gas path. This ash material causes fouling and corrosion as a result of the formation of low melting point reactive compounds. This paper presents comparative investigations into th…
