Solvent Dependence of the First Molecular Hyperpolarizability of p-Nitroaniline Revisited

Jeffrey N. Woodford、Mark Pauley、C. H. Wang1997-03-01The Journal of Physical Chemistry A

The solvent effect on the molecular first hyperpolarizability, β, of p -nitroaniline ( p NA) has been investigated. Using the hyper-Rayleigh scattering technique, we have also determined β of p NA in DMSO using 1064 nm laser radiation. This β value has not been previously reported. With the help of Onsager's theory, w…

Low-temperature thermal conductivity of glasses within the soft-potential model

M. A. Ramos、U. Buchenau1997-03-01Physical review. B, Condensed matter

The low-temperature ${\mathrm{T}}^{2}$ rise and the subsequent plateau of the thermal conductivity of glasses allow one to determine two parameters of the phenomenological soft-potential model. The first of these is a weighted average C-bar of the dimensionless parameter combinations ${\mathrm{C}}_{\mathrm{l}}$ and ${…

Small Molecular Gelling Agents to Harden Organic Liquids: Trialkyl cis-1,3,5-Cyclohexanetricarboxamides

Kenji Hanabusa、Atsushi Kawakami、Mutsumi Kimura 等 4 位作者1997-03-01Chemistry Letters

Abstract Trialkyl cis-1,3,5-cyclohexanetricarboxamides were able to cause physical gelation in organic liquids to afford completely transparent organogel. The main driving force for gelation was intermolecular hydrogen bonding between amides and van der Waals interaction among hydrophobic alkyl chains.

Phosphorylation of Protein Kinase Cδ (PKCδ) at Threonine 505 Is Not a Prerequisite for Enzymatic Activity

Luise Stempka、Andreas Girod、Hans‐Joachim Müller 等 7 位作者1997-03-01Journal of Biological Chemistry

A structural feature shared by many protein kinases is the requirement for phosphorylation of threonine or tyrosine in the so-called activation loop for full enzyme activity. Previous studies by several groups have indicated that the isotypes alpha, betaI, and betaII of protein kinase C (PKC) are synthesized as inacti…

T. Majeed、D. J. Strickland1997-03-01Journal of Physical and Chemical Reference Data

Newly surveyed sets of energy loss cross sections are presented for N2, O2, and O. The work was motivated by a number of new electron energy loss measurements in the late 1980s and early 1990s and recent selected review articles. Each set includes a total ionization cross section and excitation cross sections that cor…
