本研究では、X線回折/リートベルト解析の外部標準法を用い、普通ポルトランドセメント(OPC)および高炉セメント(BB)硬化体中のセメント鉱物やスラグ反応率、水和生成物量を測定した。比較として内部標準法についても同様の測定を行った。その結果、両手法により求めたセメント鉱物やスラグ反応率、水和生成物量の値は概ね一致した。さらに、OPCおよびBBの水和反応と硬化体の微細構造形成との関係について検討し、BBの生成するC-S-Hに内包するゲル空隙は水和後期において増加することで、効率的に毛管空隙が減少することが明らかとなった。
