Liquid Crystal Lens Array with Hexagonal-Hole-Patterned Electrodes

Mao Ye、Shin Hayasaka、Susumu Sato2004-09-01Japanese Journal of Applied Physics

Liquid crystal (LC) lens arrays are prepared using hexagonal-hole-patterned electrodes. Two lens array structures are studied. The LC lens arrays have a focal length that is tunable by adjusting the applied voltage. By using the electrodes with the hexagonal-hole arrays, the aperture of the lens array can be increased.

Antonia Borissova、Z. Dashova、Xiaojun Lai 等 4 位作者2004-09-01Crystal Growth & Design

In-process ATR FTIR spectroscopy is used to measure concentration and supersaturation in drowning-out of benzophenone from methanol/water solution and to study the effect of the rate of the aqueous antisolvent addition. A selected peak ratio in terms of IR transmittance or absorbance is monitored on-line and used to d…

A Novel Dispersive FDTD Formulation for Modeling Transient Propagation in Chiral Metamaterials

Alkim Akyurtlu、Douglas H. Werner2004-09-01IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation

Chiral media engineered for applications at microwave frequencies can be described as metamaterials composed of randomly oriented helices (with sizes typically less than a wavelength) embedded within an achiral background that is characterized by its permittivity and permeability. Chiral metamaterials embody propertie…
